Quality plug !
Nice plug , Strong magnet that can't become detached in oil pan . Just don't over tighten and should last a long time . Good fit and no leaks on my 2017 BMW X1.

Better quality than I expected.
I was a little skeptical about how the quality would be, especially since I had just tried installing another brand magnetic drain plug that broke before tightening to spec. This one is much better, not the cheap aluminum of the other brand. This is more like what you get from a specialty auto parts store at more than twice the price.

A bit long for my application but nicely made.

Oil pan plug
If anyone knows original BMW and landrover oil plug is short threaded and and soon or later you endup replacing lower oil pan and that is not cheep. This company that makes this plug shown in picture of full threaded oil plug but is not. It matches OEM length of thread and this is not solving a problem. Because of inaccurate picture they posted I waste the money.

Probably fine
It arrived on time. Unfortunately I lost it and couldn't use it after changing my oil.

works great
had no trouble using this in place of the original. time will tell how it holds up under repeated remove and installs. I see no troubles as long as its not wrenched on to tightly, as a drain plug never should be.

Lost the magnets
Make sure to loctite the magnets in!! I have one in each of my BMW's, one with an n52 engine and the other with the n55 engine. As others have stated the magnet dropped out of both of them. They don't leak but aren't magnetic anymore. Will be replacing with another plug.

Be sure to torque, and maybe loctite the magnet retainer
I bought this for my 2016 BMW 340i. I was actually excited to pull the plug for the next oil change after I had installed it, just to see if it had collected anything, until I got under the car and saw that the red retaining plug and magnet had dropped out. I thought I had tightened this down appropriately, but apparently not. Otherwise, the plug looked great after the first oil change, but I would recommend using a torque wrench to install the main bolt, since it does not have the same thickness throughout the bolt as a standard plug, and as one user noted, the bolt snapped off under only 20 ft-lbs of torque - that would be very disappointing, but can happen with a hollowed out bolt.
