Solar Power Kit for Outdoor and Bird Repellers

I already have two PestStop solar power kits and the PestClear is identical. I use them to power PestStop outdoor repellers which keep badgers from digging up my lawn.I have the repellers set for PIR detection so unless there is something in range, they don't come on. I also switch them off during the day. That means that I don't use much power. In the summer, the solar power kits perform well although I do occasionally need to boost them with a mains charge if it has been particularly cloudy. In the winter, I have to boost them every couple of days so they don't provide power during the darkest winter months as they claim. Rather than use the supplied pole to mount them separately, I drilled a hole in the repeller support pole and fixed the solar power panel to that with a bolt. It's much neater.I don't mount them vertically as shown in the photo because the cable and switch panel are on the side and could get wet. The waterproofing doesn't seem very robust. If it's going to rain, I turn the panel round so that the cable emerges from below which should make them more waterproof but I can't keep them angled them up towards the sun. I haven't had any problems with my earlier purchases and don't expect this one to give any trouble.The solar kit means that I don't need to power from the mains so I can place them anywhere I want in the garden. They keep the repellers working fairly well but could be better designed (mounting and waterproofing).

I purchased this along with the sonic bird repeller for my villa in Cyprus to stop the pigeons nesting on the roof terrace. This only lasted 4 months then stopped working. On checking the unit , it had water ingress onto the internal board making it useless. Poor seals make this a dry weather item only.
