These are birch bark shingles. They are used to create a stack handle effect on a hidden-tang fixed blade knife. You can easily make one large handle or two smaller handles for medium-small designs. Each individual stack is well-matched in color and figure. These will make a fine addition to your next project!

Prior Knife Handle Experience Is A Big Help
As long as you know what you're doing, making a knife handle out of birch bark comes out real nice. There's alot of sanding involved to shape the handle so use a belt sander. It would take way too long to attempt to manually sand the handle.I used a belt sander and used 80 grit and 1000 grit belts.Came out nice!
