HZ-4192-WH WHT Alexandria Lantern

This a a very good product. I bought it to replace the one I have had for over 20 years, which finally failed. The light worked OK, but it would no longer go out during the daylight hours. Now with LED bulb, it is very economical to operate.

The light is designed to work with tungsten filament incandescent bulbs which are no longer available in the US market. None of the GE brand led bulbs (all dimmable) would work with light and neither would Lowe’s generic brand led. Finally tried halogenated bulbs and was successful. Light appears to be nearly obsolete.

The light is great and easy to install. I would note a defect that the screw caps to hold the light to the wall are too short. This leaves about an three sixteenth inch gap between the wall and the light. The gap is big enough for water and bugs to get in behind the light.

I have three of these on the front of my house. One failed after 10 years and would randomly start flashing off and on. This one looked the same as the old ones and when it arrived it was a perfect match. Now I'm no longer sending Morse code messages to my neighbors and I didn't have to purchase three new light fixtures.

First of all, I love this light.When it works, it does what I want, and is attractive. I have nine of these installed around my house. Seven of them are working. Two have already been returned, and it looks like I will have to return another two.Quality control of the electronics is a problem. I tried to turn off the motion detector function so that the light would just be controlled by the day/night switch, but it appears that this is not an option. The light does stay on constantly at night, but the intensity will increase when motion is detected. This can cause premature burnout of LED and compact fluorescent bulbs that are not built to be dimmed. This premature burnout problem can be reduced, but not eliminated, by using LEDs that are meant to be dimmed.My biggest problem that I have with this light fixture is electronics relating to the day/night switch. The problem that I have had with all four fixturesis that a light will delay coming on to midnight one day, and then stay on until noon. The same light may then work perfectly for a number of days, before repeating the problem. The problem may be temporarily cured by turning the light off for one minute and then turning it back on, but eventually this fix does not work any more. All of the fixtures that have exhibited this problem have eventually died. Of the eleven lights that I purchased, four have died. Two have been returned, but I will delay until spring before replacing the ones high on my garage.If this was available without the motion detector, it would be much more reliable and cheaper.Joe

nice light...but the color is not white...more of an off white

This light is great , works like described and easy to install and adjust.

I used this product for outdoor patio. One light failed to turn on and off as the other three. I would like to exchange for a functional one. Please advise me how to proceed.
