Minelab PRO-FIND 35 Waterproof Pinpointer Metal Detector for Experts with Tone ID & Adjustable Sensitivity (Built-in Flashlight, Holster & Lanyard Included)

This is a excellent pinpointer to use. I've included a photo of metal objects that I've found within 3 to 4 inches. Some were on top of the ground and some were a inch down. I'm still learning what all the beeps are for. It' is also sturdy.

I bought this pin pointer metal detector for my husband to use alongside his main metal detector, and it’s been a great addition. It’s very sensitive and makes locating small targets much faster once a signal is found. What we like most is how simple it is to use — one button, quick response, and it fits comfortably in the hand. It’s lightweight but doesn’t feel cheap, and the detection accuracy has been spot on so far. One thing to note is that it can be a bit sensitive if you’re near metal tools, so it takes a little practice, but that’s expected with pin pointers. Overall, this is a solid choice for beginners or hobbyists who want to speed up their finds. Definitely useful for anyone serious about metal detecting.

This pinpointer, as most prospectors know, is the top of the line. Minelab is a reliable company, with great products, so goes with this pinpointer. I have used this pinpointer to locate some pretty nice nuggets. Also, I find that at times I can tell by the pinpointer what's junk or not.

It works well, but at this price point, I expect perfection, and perfect it isn't. Lanyard is just a short strap. It doesn't allow user to let go an move the detector well away from other metal implements in use, and still be quickly retrievable, Detection range is about the same as my previous cheap detector. Other than that, it's reliable and easy to use.

A must have for detecting

I've had the ProFind 35 pinpointer for about 2 weeks and like the adjustable sensitivity. Before I dig, I set it at maximum sensitivity, and it let's me know if my target is within 3 inches or so under the surface. If it deeper, I decrease the sensitivity after digging and this let's me find right where the coin or metal is located. It has a setting that allows for a different sound if the target is iron. The light is handy as well. I see other reviews that want to downgrade this pinpointer over the battery that's included. My view is that in my 68 years, I've never trusted or had good results with a battery that's included with anything, from tv remote controls to the one that came with this. They most all are a no-brand battery that most likely won't last a few minutes at best. I always dispose of it. Do yourself a favor and put a good alkaline 9v in this pinpointer and your good to go. This way you get several days of problem free use from it.

I have detected for 30+ years without a pinpointer. This is not an essential piece of gear but is helpful for small targets or muddy conditions. This one is very simple to operate. I am not sure the discrimination feature is needed since my detector takes care of that most times. It is a little chirpy in mineralized soil if sensitivity is set too high. On shallow targets the pinpointer saves me from digging a large plug. The trend seems to be to pinpoint less, dig larger plugs, then use pinpointer to find target. The vibration and volume are easily perceived. If you like, you can turn off the sound. I will write again after I have used it for a few months and several trips. I lost first pointer. I now have a second one. I attached a 1/2 “ stainless split ring to the hole in cap and hooked a key retractor to that. Now it stays hooked to my belt loop. I can use it without removing it. I won’t walk away from it. The rings were from io tags LLC (on Amazon) and the retractor was from Key-Bak (on Amazon. Addendum: Now Nov 2021. This pinpointer has held up fantastically. I use a tip protector that I found on eBay as I tend to “root around” with it a great deal. I think a key to dependable functioning is to turn sensitivity down a notch or two from max. No leakage from water. Battery life is excellent. I still like my key retractor set up as well.

Working good. Only detect depth within15 cm. Ferrous and non ferrous tone identification is difficult. But can able to detect Gold, iron, silver, stainless steel and also sometimes stones.

Works pretty good, sometimes have to reboot it to re-calibrate but other than that great. Mostly metal detecting beaches and shallow water; it reacts with sea water like it detects a metal when touching salt water or when immersed, but I’m guessing that’s the same with any pinpointer.
