If you don't mind a lot of sex, there's one of the best space operas here.
This is a review of the overall story presented by this series, not just this book in particular. While this book is good and can stand on its own, it is the beginning of a very long story, so it's not a tightly packed three arc plot, and it's not meant to be. The author has at least a dozen more novels worth of content yet to be compiled in e-book form, but the 4 available on Amazon are a great place to start.Calling this "erotica" is underselling it a bit. There’s a lot of sex in this book. Like, a lot. So if that doesn’t interest you, you’re just not going to enjoy it. You’d be skimming through… quite a bit of text to get to the rest of the story.Unlike a lot of other harem novels, however, the sex actually factors heavily into the actual plot. Yes, it’s almost like the author came up with a reason for the characters to have a lot of sex, beyond them being horny for the usual reasons, and then wrote a story about it.If the sex doesn’t turn you off, or, if in fact you don’t mind some sex (or a lot) in your harem books, there’s a shockingly good space opera to be had here. It’s one of my favorite series of all time. Something I very much enjoy about the series is that there’s a lot of it. The story is over 3 million words long and counting. By the time you get through the first three books, the overarching plot is only barely starting to reveal itself. In a shorter story, you get to see the characters interact with one group or another, but then that’s usually it. In this longer format, you get to revisit those groups and see the sometimes empire shifting consequences of their interactions with the MCs. Plus, IMO, the story keeps getting stronger as the cast expands and the momentum of the story builds.Another thing I like about the story is that it does overpowered characters right. The main character, (and the women in the harem) get really powerful. (I really like in my harem novels is when the women are really awesome too) The story keeps escalating so that they have significant challenges, but importantly, there are a lot of great scenes where the MCs have awesome moments where they wipe the floor with villains and/or wow their allies. That balance is important IMO, and a lot of books don’t get it right.

The escalating adventures of a half-human hero and his female space ship crew.
This book is the beginning of an exquisite erotic science fiction epic saga. It's very difficult to put into words how much I love the Three Square Meals saga, which includes: a half-human space-cowboy-type hero; his erotic female crew; their remarkable powers which increase as the saga progresses; delicious and mystifying story arcs. Thus far, I have read over 100 chapters in the saga and I just went back and re-read the first 10 chapters, as presented here in the Kindle edition. Later in the saga, when things get really hectic, the time covered in these first 10 chapters seems idyllic, despite the battle scenes. It's good to savor these good old days in the saga, and to read again and understand what is really happening to John Blake and his crew. The erotic scenes are highly explicit and geared toward fantasies of male readers. Later in the saga, the story palette expands the fantasies to a mind-boggling degree. The things I love most about the saga: the overall concept (which is not really revealed in these first 10 chapters), the saucy personalities of the crew members, and the laugh-out-loud moments. There are a few things in the story I could nitpick and criticize, but they seem so minor compared to the overall saga.If you are the geeky SF type who can also appreciate strong erotic themes, start with this first volume and then continue with the rest of the series.I'm thoroughly besotted.

A Very Sexy Space Opera
This author has been a phenomenon, churning out high quality albeit niche as erotic sci-fi. He has enough written for more than a dozen of these books, and most who have read the first few chapters are hooked. The themes that repeat over and over in the story are love, compassion, consideration, protecting the weak and helpless from bad guys, and John’s special qualities. Not to give too much away, but the fetish that appears repeatedly is oral sex and cum inflation. Also the content is suitable to those who like heterosexual and lesbian sex.One criticism of the story is that there is perhaps too much sex, but this criticism arises primarily because the story gets so interesting. Frankly, the erotic passages are well executed and the story has tension, challenges, and very satisfying conclusions. You will struggle to find anything that comes close to this. If you like this sort of erotica and you want a good sci-fi story to go with it, Tefler is your author and John Blake Chronicles is what you’re gonna be reading. Enjoy!

What a start to the series!Characters were real and the story grabs you. Obviously we all started reading this for the erotica but it becomes second to the unfolding plot.So much more to come!!

fantastic scifi series!
This book contains the first 10 chapters of a story, that is currently spanning a 115 chapters...So, what you get is a start of the story, which is greatly addictive.Yes, there is sex, yes there's the start of a growing harem. However, the addicting part is the story, which is truly great.John Blake is a semi-retired army veteran, turned merchant. Making a gamble on a life changing deal, John accidentally picks up a stowaway. This starts of a dangerous journey across the galaxy for John and his companions. Trying to find more about his origins and fighting against evil, wherever it opposes them. There's huge galactic battles, intergalactic politics, interpersonal relations and emotional moments all throughout the entire story. John can't help himself but help "broken birds" and add to his ever increasing harem of beautiful, smart and loyal women.Forget about the sex for a minute, the story is truly grand. Think of a combination of Mass Effect, Star Wars, Star Trek and you get a good grasp of the immense world-building that went into this.Definitely a praiseworthy feat and a recommendation to read from my end!

NOT mindless SMUT but actually A brilliant read that's addictive
when i first bought the book it was from a friends recommendation and i was apprehensive that it would be nothing but smut with a poorly written plot to try and justify it ,I was completely wrong while their is raunchy content its written seamlessly into the plot so as to further the story line and connect the characters together in a well done manner,it has a well written plot and has characters that i found myself drawn to and enjoying their personalities ,so thank you to the author for writing a brilliant book that i judged before reading and making me do a 180in my thoughts after reading it .Highly recommend this to every one who enjoys sci fi and hope their not put off by descriptions of sex .
