Moringa: Nature's Medicine Cabinet

Generally informative book
This is an enjoyable read, with a fair coverage of the information. Two areas that I think would be useful to add for any book of this nature is maybe a more detailed description of cultivation in tropical zones, and general maintenance information like pruning, etc. I am cultivating moringa in the Orinoco River basin of Colombia, and find that due to our soil conditions and annual rainfall, we do have cultivation issues, such as slower than anticipated growth, rabbit problems (they dig for the roots), deer problems (they strip the top leaves and branches), as well as what other species may be best for social planting and to boost competition for better results. I also felt that some of the citations were weak, for example one should never cite oneself, in my opinion, unless it is a separate study. Natural products often suffer from poor scientific study to support the claims made, or from misinterpreted studies where the focus was different from what the writer is trying to support. Having said that, I think this is a good book and well worth having in one's library. Here in Colombia there is an industry that makes food pellets for animals out of moringa, which are high protein cattle feed, so we are keen on using our moringa not just for human consumption, but also for forage during the dry season, when our Cebu cows get skinny.

Moringa Nature's Medicine Cabinet is a very informative book
Moringa Nature's Medicine Cabinet is a very informative book. I'm 78 year old lady in west central Florida. I found the book everything I wanted to know about the trees. Nov 2014,I had planted and had three trees growing in each of three pots making them dwarf plants. I don't own the land and can't plant in the yard. I've been eating leaves since March and flowers since May. I might not get pods on these. Maybe I'll get a larger pot and see if I can get pods growing. I do get the powder from I Love Moringa on line for when I don't want to take time to fix the leaves or need to let more grow. Book was well worth the information I got out of it.

Very informative book.
I really did not know anything about Moringa before seeing it on Amazon. This book explains all you need to know about Moringa. If you do not know much about Moringa I would recommend you buy this book before buying any Moringa products. After reading this book I bought Moringa oil (which keeps your skin very soft), Moringa seeds so I can start my own plants, and Moringa powder (which I put in a smoothie). The book is very informative and helpful.

Wow, what a great book and source of information!
What great information regarding this wonderful tree. I found the books to explain everything in detail . Thank you for recommending the smaller book to us as well for easier reading and to share with other people who might not want to spend as much time with this book that's a bit more technical.
