They up charge fees. Not disclosed transparently. Worse yet I’ve followed the instructions but their online system sucks I haven’t been able to complete registration and I’ve tried 3 times.

I had my doubts after reading other reviews, but realized those reviews are about the website or the users didn’t follow directions. As long as you follow directions and allow pop ups on the website when you’re registering, it’s easy.I was satisfied with the results. They were quick and easy to read. I called to ask a question about the results and their customer service was great too!

The sample containers have labels on top and bottom need to be to removed completely, and then you reapply the same labels after each test is completed. When I mailed in my samples for evaluation, I was a little worried that the labels would fall off. Also, since I couldn't set the sticky labels down anywhere without tainting the results, I ended up with labels stuck to the edge of my fingers for the duration of each test.One of the labels slipped off my finger and ended up landing face down, possibly contaminating it. The report format from MyAllergyDetective was similar to a professional report I had from a previous issue; the mold section was very detailed. 4 out of 5 samples had reasonable results, so that means $50 gone to waste.This company's main product is MyMoldDetective; this one is a more expensive set that also includes some reporting on other allergens such as dust, but otherwise works the same way. The cost of analysis is 10$ more per sample, but I didn't find the additional (limited) allergen info to be worth the extra money.Overall I am satisfied with my purchase as I was expecting helpful, but not scientifically perfect, results. However I would recommend to get the cheaper MyMoldDetective set instead.

Make sure to check the expiration date. Ordered 2, both were over 1 year expired

We finally know why my sons allergies are triggered when he steps into our garage-converted playroom. My Allergy Detective’s easy to read lab reports revealed animal hair, dander, and insulation fibers in the air, it also detected that we have high levels of black mold. We took the results to our allergist and the information proved to be a helpful tool in solving my sons allergy & health issues. I highly recommend this product and the additional lab fees are totally worth it.

If the product is only useful with an additional $100 worth of lab tests, why didn't you include it in the cost of this? My bs alarm is tingling.

I've been suffering from allergies for most of my life. But after getting the MyAllergyDetective I now know what is in my room that is giving me allergy problems. After consulting with their customer service, I decided to purchase a nice HEPA filter system for my room. I now sleep great and breath so much better.
