GRO-Egg Color Changing Digital Room Thermometer

Makes me feel better knowing the temperature when my baby is sleeping.

We got the gro-egg for our first son who is now 2 1/2 - it was in Fahrenheit and also shows a smile face when the temperature is fine and a frown face when the temperature isn't ideal. This time we finally found it again and we re-ordered (after finding it difficult to find one for a reasonable delivery amount - they are from the UK i believe) but this time it only came in Celsius and there are no facial indications. So, still the best thing on the market to determine room temperature but my husband and I are going to have to do the math (C x 2+30 = F) to figure out the temperature - which won't be fun at 2am with our newborn HA. (PS i believe this is an international product).

This is one of those purchases that as a new mom I was like I probably really don't need this, but after a year I still look at it every single day!!! living in a basement apartment with drafty windows means I was super worried about the temperature of my babies room both in the winter and summer. Plus the only wall big enough for our crib was right below the heat register. We put the egg on a shelf just above and to the side of the crib and it's been such a good thing to have! You can tell at a glance if the room is too hot or cold and the light is just soft enough it doesn't keep baby awake, but it's enough for me to do a quick diaper change at night without turning another lamp on.

Completely inaccurate, it always reads way too high. Currently says my room is 78 when it’s really 71. I’ve had my baby underdressed because of this worthless “thermometer” for a few nights and I am really upset about it. Avoid this and get a real thermometer.

Love this product! Still use my sons in his room and he is 4. My new baby has one and works wonderfully just as my sons does. I love this product because it gets mid room temperature. The monitor temperatures that come on the videos do not show accurate temperatures especially if u have mounted high on wall because heat rises. Will always use the egg:)

I liked it while it worked. We received it as a gift and it completely stopped working. I emailed them and their service is pleasant but completely unhelpful. Due to being purchased in Canada and not having a receipt they could do nothing to help, not even offer a coupon code to help with a replacement. I’ll buy a different nursery thermometer this time and stay away from any tommie tippie (parent company) products in the future.

If I could leave zero stars I would. We purchased this item and it does not work accurately. Said our room which is heated to 18 degrees Celsius whilst 5 degrees outside was in the mid 20s over night, then in the early hours was reading 0 degrees Celsius! I ordered an exchange and thought I’ll wait to review this if the replacement works well then I’ll put it down to a faulty item. The replacement came today and it does but display the faces. Now this may be a minor issue but nonetheless I’m not paying for a faulty item. Now I have to go through the inconvenience of returning both the items. Save yourself some money and just buy a regular room thermometer

We’ve been using it in our kids’ room since day one. It’s actually a really helpful little thing, during summer our house tends to get really hot but by the time it’s midnight or so, so then when we peek in we know we have to turn the ceiling fan on. It’s also the same idea during winter, by the time it’s midnight our house gets really cold, especially in the kids room for some reason so then when it turns yellow or blue sometimes then we know we have to put the heater on in their room. It’s also an excellent faint light source for the nights and helps with evening diaper changes without waking the kids uso,

Last year I got a similar product, egg shape that changed colors and told the temp and it was $14 this one is alot more money and is half the size. Works but would have been nice if I could have found the more affordable one

We bought this because our daughters room was always way colder than the rest of our house and we wanted to monitor the temperature. The ideal temps on this (and what seems to be recommended online) seem way too cool for my liking but my daughter doesn't wear heavy clothing or lots of layers or use blankets. Really helpful to take a quick look in a dark room instead of just going by what we feel. Adjusts pretty quickly to the temperature and easily portable. You can get covers to go on top to make them more of a cute light (the light itself isn't really bright enough to be used as a nightlight for me, but we don't use night lights for her anyways)
