...some how, I wish I could remember the guy who recommended this, if you are out there my friend, I salute you; you are amazing... Okay, I have bought headphones in ear and outer ear headphones for years, I have a wish list, but for now I was looking for a good pair of everyday head phones, I found them, Sony DJ Style Headphones MDR-V55/BR (robust, simple, far better than inner ear headphones and good enough for all things, movies to music). Everything the reviewers said was true, two things I ignored, the length of the cord and the way the ear cups sit on your actual ear. So yes, it would be great to have more length, but the flat red cord is awesome (I can live with that), but what I couldn't live with is how sore the ear cartilage and general area around the ear got/gets when wearing the headphones, it is painful. I can usually put up with stuff, but it was not a joy to listen to good headphones with this sort of discomfort for long periods... Okay, so just as I thought, well, let's buy another set of headphones that do not sit directly on my ear, the genius I wish I could give credit to for showing me the link and video on youtube for 'Brainwavz replacement memory foam earpads came along... I was really nervous, because the Sony headphones were not on the list he was reviewing, because of the discomfort, I just took a chance, the price was worth the risk... I put on the replacement set today, and the first thing I said to myself, wa-what? This not only looks good, was easy to refit, (find a video on youtube, that's why I knew what to do), but it was amazing, the new look changed my headphones to look like an expensive pair of headphones... Just to check, I only put on one cup first, I then put them on my ear to compare the replacement and the original cup, it was ridiculous, the comfort level made me smile - GREAT CHOICE - really glad I took the risk... So as expected, I replaced both, so here is the review in short, if you want comfort, buy Brainwavz replacement memory foam ear-pads... They look amazing, it makes me wonder if this is all companies do to turn a lower priced head phone into a higher priced etc... Lastly, all my previous headphones after time flake and then you are left with cloth and foam that looks like a snake has shed his skin; so there will be no flaking on these... Fit pretty well on my HyperX Cloud IIs. A bit tough to fit on, but that's overall design of the headset, not the product's fault. Once on they fit well and feel decent. I wouldn't quite call them 'cloud comfy', but maybe after a week or so I would. They do feel good quality and they certainly do not hinder sound quality either, I think they are on par with the stock ear pads. I've had these Cloud IIs almost 6 years, should get 2 or 3 more out of them - so yes, great value when paired with a new BrandZ Silicone Headband cover! Edit/Note: I got the 'red ones' and I will say it's a bit darker ready, ALMOST a maroon/burgundy color. Now I like it, but it's a bit 'deeper/darker' than the photo.

If there's one knock against the Audio Technica ATH-M50x's it's that they can really clamp down on your noggin. Some blame it on the earpads but I think it's just the sheer force on the side of your head. I could feel significant pressure on the side of my face and upper jaw. Not pain so much as just noticeable pressure. I've been stretching the headband to help alleviate but it didn't help enough and I didn't want to stretch it out too much. This brought me to search and find the Brainwavz earpads. I had seen reviews from other M50x owners and knew they'd at least fit. I felt the larger size and memory foam would make up the difference. My only real concern was from owners that said they changed the sound of their headphones. I've seen reviews from some people who swear by it and others who said it didn't make a difference. Now I have them on and can definitely say there's a difference. They not only feel good but actually sound better! The pressure isn't 100% gone but is significantly better. I don't notice it the same way I did with the original pads and can keep them on much longer without being reminded of them. I knew they'd feel good from the moment I took them out of the package. Talk about soft! The leather and the feel of squeezing the memory foam inspire confidence that you're in for a treat when these get around your ears. They really get around them too. At least around mine. No part of my ear is touching the pads. Getting them on was easy too. Taking off the old pads gives a good idea of how to put the new ones on. I started from the top by placing the edge of the pad in the ridge around the speaker then inserted the rest by placing my fingers inside the pad and stretching it over the ridge in a circle, working my way back to the top. It was pretty easy on the first try. Sound wise, as I said, I think they sound better. I was a little worried that once I attached these nice pads, that the great sound I was used to would change. I had some tracks picked out that had nice clarity and bass and I didn't notice a drop in either. If anything, they sound more spacious. I guess that's the "soundstage" I always hear about in reviews. It somehow sounds larger, possibly due to the fact that there's now more space around my ears. That's a nice bonus. I'd have been just as happy if there were no change at all. Overall, I found these to be a worthwhile investment. My headphones that had a strike against them are now perfect and now have a more premium look and feel. Speaking of looks, the brown is a fine match for my limited edition green and brown M50x's and is nearly indistinguishable in lower lighting. Another nice bonus. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a more comfortable feel from their headphones. It's a premium feature usually found on more expensive headphones but at an affordable price. Highly recommended.

This review is specifically for when they are used with ATH-M50x. I have been using my ATH-M50x for a couple of years and the stock pads wore out and needed to be replaced. I also ordered the official replacement pads from Audio Technica after wearing these as the sound changed a bit so editing the review to give better impressions of the comparison. Usage - I almost continuously wear headphones for music while working so with breaks i have them on atleast 5+ hours a day Comfort - The stock pads for ATH-M50x are on-ear while these are large enough to become Over-ear for me. Considering i wear glasses they are definitely more comfortable than the stock pads. Its easier to wear them for longer durations. The official replacement pads are better in comfort than my old worn out ones because the foam is new but these are still so much more comfortable to wear even than the official replacements because of memory foam and larger size. Sound - They fit ATH-M50x but are obviously not designed for them so sound signature changes. The sound is not bad but you lose the punchy-ness and finer details of ATH-M50x. The highs become too high as they these do not have a layer of foam to control highs between your ear and the headphones like the stock pads. So i actually sacrificed my old stock pads for good and cut out the foam padding layer from them and sandwiched it inside the pads. It improved the situation but not 100%. Even with the padding the bass was less punchy and some highs were painfully high for me (subjective) enough that i had to suppress them using equalizer. Overall, i would say the sound is not bad with these, just not as good as the original pads, and the build quality seems to be good. If you would listen to them without a reference of the original pads you wouldn't notice anything bad about the sound but if you have been listening with original pads and know how they sound, then you can easily pick up on the difference. If that sound change bugs you enough then dont go for these but if you are ok with some difference in sound for the comfort of a thicker and larger (over-ear) memory foam pad then these are great

I've owned my Audio Technica ATH-M50x headphones for about 6 months now and I have been totally in love with them. This is my first pair of high(er) end headphones and I had no complaints about them. Upon watching reviews from various YouTube channels, I found that the most common complaint about these headphones are the stock ear cups. Having no experience with any other comparable headphones and not experiencing a level of discomfort that I felt was complaint-worthy, I took this a nitpicking. I noticed that a lot of these reviewers said that they replaced their stock ear cups with these Brainwavz and fell in love with their headphones all over again. I kicked around the idea for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger and now I see what they were all raving about. Comfort: These ear cups are incredibly comfortable. The memory foam and pleather used to construct these cups create a pillow-like contact with my head. They are about twice as thick (observed, not measured) as the stock ear cups. If I had to complain about something on the M50x headphones, it would be that after an hour or so, I would have to readjust or remove the headphones due to the mild discomfort I experienced with the stock ear cups in long wear sessions.The combination of the pad's thickness with the super soft cushioning from the memory foam significantly reduce the amount of pressure that the headband puts on my skull. The opening for your ears on the Brainwavz cups are much more accomodating of large ears like mine. I didn't necessarily have an issue with the stock M50x ear cups in this regard, but it did take a few moments of fiddling around with the positioning to find the sweet spot. Sound: I had hear several times that these cups being so much thicker than the originals would alter the sound of the headphones. After swapping them out, I can say that this is true, though it's not a change with the balancing/EQ of the sound itself, but rather the sound stage. The thickness of the cups keeps the drivers a bit further from your ears which creates a much more open sound reproduction which I find really enjoyable on the M50x headphones. I use these primarily for gaming on my PC so I feel that this additional openness adds to the immersion. Quality: These are my first set of aftermarket/custom ear cups for my very first pair of high end headphones, so I can't really compare the build quality of the Brainwavz ear cups to anything other than the quality of the stock M50x cups. The pleather material of the Brainwavz cups feels just slightly thinner than that of the M50x's cups, but the stitching is top notch. After several slight tugs on the material in different areas of the cups, I'm confident that these are built for the long haul. This is a fantastic product that added so much more value to my ATH-M50x headphones that I had even expected. The comfort factor was what spurred my decision to purchase these, but the added sound stage change was a welcomed bonus. I would highly recommend these and I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

Before I start, I will mention that I have very large and droopy ears. Generally, no matter how comfortable a headset is advertised as being, I can hardly ever find a headset that is comfortable for me to wear. I also did not want to switch to earbuds due to the damage they can cause to your hearing. After buying the HyperX Cloud Alpha headset, I immediately realized that I needed to change the pads. They sounded AMAZING and were initially pretty comfortable, but as many others have realized, they are too shallow, causing pain on your ears due to the drivers touching them directly. I would be trying to enjoy my PC games, but would constantly be shifting my headset around in an attempt to subdue the pain that my brand new headset was causing me. I did some online searching and came across these pads. Some other people had posted photos of their Cloud Alpha's with these exact pads on them, and I read lots of reviews from people claiming that these pads drastically improve the comfort, so I bought them. Stretching them over the headphones took a few minutes of struggling, as the opening on the pads is quite a bit smaller, but they DO FIT. I found it was easier to stretch them over the entire cup until it was on all the way around, then use your fingernails to "poke" the ends of the pads into the grooves. It IS difficult to get these on, but they will fit with enough force and dedication. They don't look weird at all either once installed properly. As for comfort... What a difference! These pads are slightly bigger/wider than the stock pads on the Alpha, and they are MUCH deeper. I do not feel any pain from wearing these whatsoever. I feel like these pads should have come with the headset to begin with, or that the stock pads should have been thicker and deeper like these. My ears feel fully submerged in these pads as opposed to "barely fitting" into the stock pads of the Cloud Alpha. The drivers are no longer touching my ears. As far as sound quality, these DO reduce the volume and "bass thump" by a hair. When I say a hair, I mean that it's not as noticeable as you might think, and that my headphones still sound about the same as they did before. I was very worried that I was going to lose a lot of sound quality by purchasing bigger pads, but the difference is hardly noticeable. I played a few tracks that I've heard many times on this headset already, and they pretty much sounded exactly the same. If you're a huge basshead, these might slightly reduce your experience, but there are ways to fix it such as equalizers and volume boosters. Again, not a big difference. If you own a pair of HyperX Cloud headphones and feel that the pads are too shallow, buy these. They fit, and they WORK.

Let's face it, the Audio Technica (AT) ATH-M50x headphones are mostly comfortable, but after, oh, 3 hours of editing, they do become wearisome. I looked to these to provide a more comfortable experience. Unfortunately for them, I didn't wait to see if they were comfortable after many hours of listening. After about five minutes of listening, I sadly realized that they were not for me. I initially was pretty excited about these. People had glowing reviews: improved soundstage, comfort, and overall experience. I popped open the padded yellow envelope and pulled out a simple, but pleasant little frosted plastic baggy. Unzipping it, I pulled out two ear pads--which have significantly more thickness than the OEM AT ones, by the way. Fair warning, installation can be challenging for a human. Octopi prolly have no issues here, but I digress. I placed my beloved headphones on my head and tabbed over to Spotify for a listen. Immediately, I knew something was off. They made my darling headphones sound different, and not in a way I necessarily liked. There were three main sound quality changes I noticed right off the bat. First, because of the increased padding, the actual speakers in the headphones were further from my head. This resulted in the sound sounding, well, further away. One of the things I value about my ATs is how the sound is extraordinarily immersive (for the price point). More like living the music, rather than listening to music that is away from you. Because of that, the soundstage was completely off for me. The music sounded distanced and detached. Second, that distance also extraordinarily altered the sound signature. Allow me to elaborate. ATH-M50s are known for their balanced, full sound across almost all frequencies. What I noticed with the Brainwavz was that there was not nearly as much low end and mids as I am used to from my headphones, which is due to something I mention in the next reason. As a result, listening to some electro songs (especially Steal Your Heart by BRKYLN) at a high (but usually completely comfortable) listening volume resulted in ear piercingly shriek highs that were simply uncomfortable to say the least. I realized that in a subconscious attempt to make up for the lack of bass I turned up the volume more than usual, which, although getting me to an almost normal amount of low-end, made the highs much too loud for any amount of comfort. This leads to my third reason. My father and fellow audiophile once remarked about how much of an impact a good seal on a head headphones have on bass. He found a good seal resulted in much better and more present low-end than not. Unfortunately, that is the issue here. Immediately after putting them on, I realized that I already was hearing much more environmental noise than usual, and, conversely, I would imagine that means that sound leakage is much more of an issue with these ear cups. I did not actually test it, but it is a concern to be aware of. Ultimately, these are already packed and ready to head back to Amazon. I can't give this product one star, because, really, it isn't terrible. I am sure it would be more comfortable than the OEM ear cups, too. That being said, I was, admittedly, shocked at the blatant and uncomfortable difference in sound quality with these ear cups. It does make one appreciate Audio Technica's design. Even though not the most comfortable, I would take the sound I get out of them with the OEM over these, more comfortable replacements, any day.

I purchased these with the hope that they would fit the Sony MDR-7506 headphones, despite not being specifically listed among the compatible headphones, and that the heavy lining would better control sound-leakage than the stock earpads. Fit:: To my delight, they fit very nicely. I wouldn't call it a "perfect" fit, but its close enough that I'll be the only one knowing that they could have fit better (and even then I didn't care after an hour of listening). Leakage:: My stock pads were wearing heavily, and as a result, would leak like a rusty faucet, annoying my co-workers from as far away as 2-3 cubicles, at moderate volume. These new pads, with the dense memory phone, and thick faux leather liningprovides far superior isolation. I can have my music at full volume, and my nearest coworkers can barely hear my music (until I pull them off my head, at which point all bets are off!); inversely, even at low-volume I typically won't hear co-workers trying to get my attention (double bonus!). Comfort:: I expected the pads, with their faux leather to be sweaty, and eventually become uncomfortable, but it was a risk I was willing to take for the sound isolation. To my surprise, they are actually more comfortable, both short and long-term, than the stock pads. No sweaty ears yet... They also have a slightly larger inside diameter over the stock pads, so they truly no longer rest on, or otherwise touch my elephant ears. Sound Quality:: I read a few of the other reviews that suggested the bass response was lost slightly with these pads. While I can confirm this, it is MINOR. More noticeable to me, it seems, is a drop overall in loudness. I felt like maxing my DAC/amp previously would really pound my eardrums (to the point of not wanting my music that loud), whereas with these pads I can comfortably listen at full volume for extended periods (even occasionally wishing I could get a little more punch). I suspect this is a result of restricted airflow (and thus improved isolation). Overall:: I was debating spending $200-300 on a new pair of headphones with larger pads and better isolation, but figured "What the hell! I'll spend $20 in the hopes of saving myself $200". It was a bet well wagered. These pads are fantastic, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I am curious to see how they hold up long-term, but based purely on the quality of the materials and the feel of the construction, I expect they will last me far longer than my stock pads (I've owned my Sony's for nearly 15 years, and have replaced the pads twice; ie, about 5 years per set of pads).

Easy to slip onto the M50X's that I have, they're quite soft and the cushion outer material seem of high quality and should hopefully last a while without deteriorating badly.

Bought these for my AKG K371's because my ears hit the drivers with the stock pads, making them slightly uncomfortable after long sessions. Fitting: Fitting them is somewhat trickier than my last set of headphones. These are quite tight to get into the groove on the K371s since the earcups are large and the groove is pretty deep, so they have to stretch a bit to get over the lip. The trick I used based on another review was to get them in on the bottom edge and use a guitar pick to feed the edge of the pad into the groove. Getting the final part in was fairly scary since I had to pull the pad quite hard to get it in position, but these things are fairly stretchy. Just be careful with the foam backing and take it slowly. Overall it probably took 10-15 minutes. Harder than swapping the pads on my M50X but not bad. Once pushed on, these fit well and look good. Since the fit is so tight, there is very little movement. The pads can be rotated a little bit, but not without effort. They definitely are not at risk of falling out. They're a lot deeper and wider than the stock pads so the whole package doesn't look quite so sleek, but that's a tiny price to pay for the comfort. Comfort: My ears no longer touch the drivers so I am happy. They're very soft and very large. If you also have issues with the depth of the stock pads these may help you too. I've worn them for about 6 hours in one sitting with no discomfort. Audio: I have not noticed any massive difference. I don't think I would be able to tell them apart unless I had two sets side by side to try simultaneously. The headphones still sound fantastic with these pads. Your mileage may vary if you're more experienced or sensitive to this sort of thing. The K371s are highly dependent on a good seal. With these, I found it slightly improved. I didn't have major problems with the stock pads in the first place, but found they lost seal if I yawned or turned my head at certain angles. These don't have that issue at all. The increased depth of these gives them a slightly wider soundstage so that's another plus. Conclusion: Overall, these work nicely on the K371. Sound quality is still great, and comfort is massively improved.

Nachdem ich so viel gutes über die AKG K361 gehört habe, habe ich sie schließlich bestellt. Der Sound in dem Preisbereich unschlagbar, aber da ich einen großen Kopf und große Ohren habe, war der Komfort nicht zufriedenstellend für mich. Deshalb mussten neue Pads her und ich habe mich für diese hier entschieden. Pro: Wesentlich besserer Komfort, als die Stock-Pads Werden viel weniger heiß, dadurch weniger Schweißproduktion (gerade jetzt im Sommer) Bessere Versiegelung, dadurch meiner Meinung nach besserer Sound Bei den Stockpads haben meine Ohren teilweise den Treiber berührt, was auf Dauer zu Schmerzen führt. Weil diese hier etwas dicker sind passiert das bei mir nun nicht mehr. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass die Soundstage etwas größer und weiter wirkt. Contra/Neutral: Sie passen zwar auf die AKG K361, aber werden über die Ohrmuschel gezogen, statt eingeführt in die dafür vorgesehene Rille, was optisch ein bisschen weniger schön aussieht - mich stört es nicht, da ich sie ausschließlich zuhause benutze. Für mich äußerst empfehlenswert, falls man die Kopfhörer bereits besitzt oder plant sich anzuschaffen. Zusammen mit einem Boom-Mic (hier von Amazon mit dem 2.5mm Sennheiser-Anschluss) hat man dann für ca. 100 Euro ein Headset, was locker mit 200-400 Euro Headsets mithalten kann. Da spreche ich aus Erfahrung. Lächerlich gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Well, I had bought a pair of these in black and red to go on my HyperX Cloud Alpha headset about 2 years ago when I first received the headset, and they have only just recently started showing any form of ware. Naturally, when I replaced that headset with my now in use SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless - I felt I needed to replace the earpads that I got with them again as they were uncomfortable for me (I have a rather large head and the earcups that SteelSeries provided seemed good, but in practice were very uncomfortable) I came back to Brainwavz and not only did it surprise me slightly that they fit, the comfort is SO much better than the provided earpads! They cancel out the majority of the noise around you, are super comfortable and with a better fit around the ear, provide a boost in sound quality! My only wish was that the trim of these blue earpads was black, similar to how the dark red and black ones I had prior were! I loved these and the headset so much I planned my future PC build around the colour scheme! White, dark blue, dark/matte silver, and black!
