Indiana-Jones style Christian romantic mystery adventure
This book was SO fascinating - the story was so clever and sweet. The history was as deep as the Vikings, and as current as financially struggling English aristocracy. The twists and turns of the adventure and mystery were surprising and kept me guessing the whole time. The hurting of the main characters and their struggle to come together was tormenting but engaging, sad then hopeful. The character development was almost palpable at times. There is a strong Christian proclivity, which I LOVED. I love it when characters involve God in their healing because then I know the healing will be whole.I saw the perfect one-line review about the book, "A perfect blend of Indiana Jones style adventure and heart-tugging romance!" -Tara Johnson, author of Engraved on the Heart.#TheLostManuscript #NetGalley

Great Story
1. How did you feel about the setting?I was absolutely captivated by the enchanting beauty of Alnwick, England. The rolling hills of the Northumberland countryside embraced me with their serene allure, while the presence of numerous gentle sheep added a touch of pure joy to the scenery. It felt like stepping into a magical storybook, where every moment was filled with wonder and delight.2. What do potential readers need to know most about the main character? In the dazzling world of vintage and historical wonders, divorcee Ellora Lockwood reigns as the ultimate aficionado. With a touch of modernity added by her trusty cell phone, which serenades her with the soulful melodies of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, Ellora’s passion for all things classic knows no bounds. Let her spirit guide you on a journey through the richness of a bygone era, where beauty and nostalgia intertwine in perfect harmony.3. Which supporting character caught your interest the most?Alexander Lockwood, Ellora’s former partner, eagerly and urgently sought her assistance as a substitute medieval history professor in the charming town of Alnwick, England.4. What journey do(es) the main character(s) take?Alexander found one of Ellora’s grandmother’s old letters stating she wanted Ellora to come to Alnwick. Her grandmother’s obsession was to find a long-lost medieval manuscript. Ellora’s grandmother had disappeared while she was searching for the manuscript. She has been missing for eleven months. The manuscript, which had been colored with costly blue lapis lazuli stone, would be an exceptional find. Legends said the secret writings led to an even higher valued artifact or maybe a way for those on the run from Viking raiders to communicate with one another.5. How is the writing style or quality of the writing?I absolutely adored the captivating writing style that left me eagerly yearning for more!6. (for Christian fiction) Are there spiritual truths to be gleaned from the story?“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)7. For whom would you recommend this book?I highly recommend this captivating book to avid readers of Christian romance and women’s fiction. It is sure to delight and captivate you from beginning to end.8. Why did you give it the star rating you did? This Christian romance manuscript is truly captivating, as Levi and Ellora search for Grandma and the lost manuscript, making it an absolute delight to read. I delightfully give it 5-stars.9. Is the title memorable and/or emotion-grabbing?This Christian romance story is seriously amazing, it totally hooks you from the start. Seriously, you won’t be able to put it down once you start reading! Great title!“I wholeheartedly endorse this book, having received a personal copy from the author. An Indiana Jones love story
A deeply moving story of learning to love and trust even when you've felt abandoned and alone. The characters in this story leap off the page. You feel every emotion alongside them, and though their lessons are hard-won, they are easily understood and I was so wrapped up in The Lost Manuscript that I couldn't stop reading. I loved the mystery interwoven with the faith and romance elements that rounded out the book. Ellora has a deep need to be seen and to have someone show up for her. It makes it difficult for Alex, though he's doing the best he knows how. I enjoyed those moments when they sat down and really shared with each other about their difficult pasts. There was a lot for Ellora and Alex to unpack in this book, and I think the pacing worked well to give them a chance to find the love they once shared.I received a copy of this book through NetGalley. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Just needs a good editor
The story and characters were fun, and I enjoyed the Christian-based wisdom scattered throughout. However, I was disappointed and baffled that the writing was nowhere near as smooth as in Rushmeyer's first book, The Bookshop of Secrets, which I enjoyed enough to want to buy this one. It almost seemed like a different author to me, and the only reason I can think of to account for it is that maybe it was rushed into publication without some very thorough edits. There also wasn't as much genuine chick lit-style humor. If she could write another book of as high a quality as The Bookshop of Secrets, I'm sure I would love it too.

Fun romantic read with a touch of mystery!
I loved the first book by Mollie Rushmeyer, The Bookshop of Secrets, and could not wait for her second novel. This book did not disappoint! I loved the setting taking place at Alnwick Castle. Mollie does a beautiful job painting the scene that it feels like you are there. This book carries a more serious tone compared to her first book and deals with some heavy topics, like a miscarriage- this is mentioned right away in the book so I’m not giving too much away. I loved the adventure/ mystery piece as the main character tries to find a lost manuscript and uncover what happened to her grandmother. I definitely recommend and can’t wait to see what Mollie writes next!

Marriage Redemption and treasure
Faith. Redemption. History. Love.Ellora and Alex have been separated for over a year when Ellora has the chance to teach in the place her grandmother, June, went missing from in England. It’s a chance to find out what happened to her. Even if it is at the risk of seeing her almost ex-husband.Following in June’s foot steps, Ellora begins the search for the lost manuscript hoping to find answers and finds herself in a modern day scavenger hunt - following clues and possible answers. The author did a wonderful job of showing how simple miscommunications, and even lack there of, can dissolve a marriage. And then allowing the lost manuscript to bring together 2 lost souls. So beautifully written. I love second chances. I love seeing the beautiful redemption that can be found there.
