Barely 3 stars
Product has quite a cheap feel to it, made of slightly inferior plastic perhaps? It takes 2 AA batteries and has 8 LEDs colour temperature controlled to 5500K (white light). How useful is accurate colour temperature on a magnifying glass? Nice and bright though. The glass certainly doesn't seem to get anywhere near a 5X magnification factor, barely 2X I'd say though this might not be a massive problem and it's only my subjective view. I can magnify the keys on my keyboard here and the light is handy as I can see lots of dust (despite cleaning it from time to time!) But you can only raise the lens a short distance away before it gets totally blurry and it's definitely not more than 3X the size. However, does it do the job? Yes I'd say. I'm not in the habit of staring into my DSLRs with the mirror up and sensor exposed so have yet to try it but I see no reason why it wouldn't help (just the LED lights alone make it easier) but as another reviewer said, why not just search for "'illuminated magnifying glass' and save yourself some money." There's nothing about this particular product that screams quality or right tool for the job (DSLR sensor magnification/illumination). It's not shaped in such a way to particularly fit the lens mount or anything and maybe it should be a little bit better considering the price? My illuminated magnifying glass needed cleaning when I took it out of its packaging. The lens actually looked damaged/distorted initially so not a good sign.

The glass was marked. Unusable.
Received defective and immediately sent back. The plastic of the lens was damaged and unusable. Look for 'illuminated magnifying glass' and save yourself some money.

Disappointing quality
As stated by previous reviewers, inside of glass was cloudy and difficult to see though. I thought that the other reviewers may just have been unlucky, hence why I went ahead with purchase. It would appear that it may not be a few one offs. No attention to detail when put together at the manufacturing stage. A promising product, poorly put together. Disappointing.

less impressed
Impressively it comes with real glass, but the body of it is made with a light plastic. Assuming you use it rarely and pack it away it carefully you should be fine.I am a bit surprised to see the glass is filthy... perhaps stained; I can barely see through it.The glass should have been smaller, as when you use it most of the light falls on the body of the camera, and not inside it. You will find yourself looking through the edge, and not the middle of it.
