Marware UpSurge Rechargeable Mini Speaker, Pink

Needed a small speaker for my I Pod and my wife`s Kindle Fire.Read some good reviews and decided to buy. I was not disappointed,this bad boy is amazing for its size.Cranked some Muse through it this morning and wow both top and bottom end are really rich and clear.Being an old rocker I still thought you needed speakers the size of Devon to shift air,not so and for 20 quid you can not go wrong.The build quality also seems very good and it is quite weighty for its size and its made in the USA another bonus.In short if you want a mini speaker that is portable and delivers cracking sound get one now...Also it will be great for taking on your hols and just loud enough to annoy other people if your that way inclined.If i am being ultra picky the jack to jack lead could be a bit longer as it is only 30cms but its still worth 5 stars...fantastic.

solid feel to this small and compact speaker. it looks and feels like a quality item. it works with my samsung galaxy s5 as well as my kindle fire. it would work with any item that has a standard microphone hole, as that's the cord it comes with. i assume, if you have a different audio outlet on your device, it would work fine with it as long as you could source the appropriate cord. that's speculation, however. just saying it doesn't seem terribly high maintenance where its requirements are concerned!while it may look and feel quality, i fear that is where the impression ends. as a speaker, it is decidedly LOW quality sound. there's a marked lack of clarity (chiffy sounding audio on any level of volume), and base/treble are very wonky- for my ear, at least. i've seen some reviews here saying it's high on bass, but i feel mine is actually very lacking in bass.ultimately, for the price i paid (on sale for £9.99), i am more than satisfied. it's small and will be easily carried, but sturdy, so i feel it will be hard to damage. for listening to programs while cooking in the kitchen, or for a bit of mood music while out camping, this will do just fine. If i'd paid over £20 for it, i would be returning it tomorrow, however, as the sound is simply not good enough for that price.Hopefully that helps someone out there! :)

My speaker arrived today but how disappointed am I to find that contrary to the spec, the cable is NOT compatible with my Kindle Fire HD!!! I charged the speaker via my laptop then plugged the cable supplied into my Kindle Fire HD and no sound came through...extremely annoying as this speaker is a recommended accessory!!! I have tried the speaker with my HTC One X+ and it works well and the sound is excellent but considering I bought the thing for my Kindle Fire HD, I'm most unhappy!!!How do I now find a suitable cable which will guarantee it works with my Kindle Fire HD????!!! This should have been made clear in the spec!

Considering it say's that it has got batteries that can be re-charged I expected that I could charge the speaker & then plug it into my kindle or other mobile device letting me listen to my music wherever I went with my kindle . THIS IS NOT THE CASE , unless I have got one with dud batteries then the speaker ALWAYS has to be plugged into a USB power point . So I need to have it plugged into my laptop just to listen to music downloaded onto my kindle . All rather pointless when I could just be listening to my music through the laptop .The only plus side is that it does provide a decent quality of sound when cranked up compared to the laptop or kindle .

I've found this speaker to be temperamental and will suddenly stop working even when fully charged. Also have had to shut down and restart my Kindle Fire to get the speaker to work, sometimes I have to do it 2 or 3 times to get the speaker to work. I can't even get the speaker to work when I listen to the radio on my Kindle. I hadn't read any reviews about this happening, so wonder if others have the same experience. When it works, it's great, but it's too temperamental and not reliable. I'll try it for a bit longer but I'm not very optimistic.

I love this little speaker that is so original and has such a great sounnd. I bought it for my new fire hd which already has good speakers but this little inkpot lookylike is good for your ipod too and other devices. It is so light and easy to carry about once charged, and so enhances the sound which makes for a much better listening experience altogether. Nice for films and music and I suspect audiobooks.It comes with a usb charger which doesnt take too long, but have yet to find out how long a charge lasts for if its turned off after use?I agree with the reviewer that mentioned about the plastic packaging you have to cut off, its awfull. Someone should invent something new to take its place. Otherwise, no problem at all (as they say).

I spend a fair amount of time away from home and want something portable so I can listen to music or audiobooks while cooling my heels in a hotel. This fits the bill.It's very small, but surprisingly capable. It's ideal for small quiet rooms such as hotel rooms, but would struggle outdoors or in a noisy environment. Audio fidelity is hardly high-end, but that's not the purpose here. It's perfectly serviceable and does the job.The speaker does not have its own volume control; the volume is controlled by the source device, with the speaker amplifying whatever it receives. If the source signal is too high the sound will distort; the built-in amplifier is actually a bit too strong for the speaker. The ideal volume "sweet spot" will likely vary from source device to source device, so some experimentation will be called for.The battery life is fine for me; the most I've ever used it for at any one time is 2 hours, and it still didn't need recharging. I don't know how well it would fare for longer use.Finally, the colour is delightfully garish, so I'm unlikely to lose it among the myriad black devices which litter my life.

Excellent at amping up the sound. Small but mighty. Works well with my Kindle.

Good product for the price, the sound is very good. All is OK.

I use this little speaker on my kindle and iPhone to listen to my audio books. I like it as it provides enough additional sound as I wash my dishes and prepare my meals. Or watching movies on my kindle, gives that extra theatre sound quality.

Ha superado lo que esperaba de este mini-altavoz. Tiene un sonido mejor de lo que se supone para un altavoz tan pequeño. Es fácil de montar y cargar. En fin, sí lo recomendaría para poder disfrutar de la música en cualquier sitio. También me ha sorprendido la duración de la carga de la batería. Dura efectivamente lo que dice las instrucciones (cinco horas de reproducción es mucho).
