Our almost 2 year old thought it was a game to switch off the fish tank (much to the annoyance of her father and the very nearly dead fishies!) And also the TV (much to the annoyance of her sister) so we purchased 2 of these as we have 2 double plug sockets side by side. They fit in behind the sockets then the cover comes down over the sockets and switches. They're childproof and inconspicuous. They have solved our issues of annoying kids and murdered fish.We would definately recommend if your 2 year old is also feral 👍🏼

Ignore the bad reviews, they've just not installed it properly. You need to unscrew the actual plug socket away from the wall by a centimeter or so, then at a slight angle, slip the guard over the plate of your plug socket. Then screw the plate of your plug socket back onto the wall ensuring the plastic lugs of the guard are secured behind the plate of the plug socket. Shame that some people on here have left bad reviews because they've just shoved the guard on top of the socket expecting it to work. It's hardly rocket science, and once you've installed them properly, even as an adult you'd not be able to rip it from the wall.

I read all the reviews before buying, even the positive one saying "don't listen to the bad reviews" so I purchased one piece.We're very good at DIY in here, so unscrewing the panel off the wall wasn't rocket science. Putting the cover on and re-screwing the thing together, no problem.Main problem though is that the side clips no longer fit their own holes and therefore this is a useless piece of plastic as it doesn't close anymore, no matter how much wiggling, unscrewing, rescrewing, changing plugs (standard UK plugs too) we've done, it just doesn't close.Our plug sockets are standard size, not even fancy ones, but this just doesn't fit.Looking at the recent reviews, having had several bad ones over a couple of months, I wonder if they just had a bad batch and we were the unfortunate ones to get one of those.It's an expensive piece of badly molded plastic. It'll probably cost more in returning and replacing, just look perhaps for a different product and compare.

To install this you unscrew the plug socket, pull it out a little, clip the cover over the back and then screw it back in. It sounds simple and I've no doubt for many people it goes smoothly but when I did it the whole thing quickly turned into a mess.When I unscrewed the cover there wasn't enough room to fit the clip over so I had to pull the whole cover out. Then I couldn't get the screws lined up properly to get the cover back on. It turned out that one of the holders for the screws had been damaged when I unscrewed it so I ended up with a socket hanging half off the wall that I had no idea how to fix. I admitted defeat after much struggling and called out an electrician.This product didn't cause the problem as such but it made me wish I'd never decided to mess around with a plug socket in the first place. If you're going to try this then you should at least be aware that it can go wrong depending on what state your sockets are in.

I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading other reviews it seemed a mixed bag. I ordered anyway and am glad I did this has exceeded all my expectations.It is made from a very sturdy plastic, to open you have to use both hands to press in two circular “buttons” which releases the lid.I wanted this purely for aesthetic reasons to hide some black plugs on my white kitchen wall but after fitting it I am happy to recommend to parents as a plug cover as it is solid! This is probably down to ‘fit’ rather than product to be honest. I have an mk double plug, I loosened the screws on the plug and wedged the flaps on this unit behind and tightened up the screws again. It was a neat fit and I was able to get my screws tight this means it isn’t going anywhere.I am more than happy with my purchase it looks good and performs even better, I am happy to recommend to others.

after my son of 3 found it funny to disconnect every plug from socket i decided i needed a quick fix so ordered this item,it arrived immediatelyit looked toeye flimsy and before even fittingto socket the push side buttons to apparently open the thing didnt even line up , i thought maybe once attached to the socket it may align but how wrong i was , i unscrewed my socket and attached to wall as described , the box cover would not close even a 10month old could have just lifted it up and accessed the plugs still i thought maybe be out of sight out of mind for my 3 yr old within 2 mins he opened it and tugged it gently and it came out from behind the socket even though it was fastened correctly , and yup low n behold atraight back to plugs and unplugged , this item is shoddy and flimsy and not work the money at all , i may of opened the bin and put £10 straight into it knowing the lid of the bin was a closer tighter fit than this described item = in honesty pass on by from this item save yourself that £10 or if u dont believe me spend £10 better still just throw your money in bin ..save on delivery of this item - very disappointed

This was installed in minutes at our pre-school on a double wall-mounted socket. This will be ideal to prevent the children turning off the computer at the wall which was a favourite trick! Not sure what the unfavourable reviews were about but I would recommend 100%

It arrived in good condition and well packed. I purchased this item to cover my emergency power isolation fused switch for my shed to prevent it being inadvertently switched off. It fitted perfectly and does a wonderful job. It also has an adequate surface are on the front to attach a label stating the plugs use. As I am not using it every day and I do not have a plug protruding from the socket it is ideal. However it does seem a little fragile, in my opinion it wouldn’t withstand the attention of a determined toddler. And I don’t think there is adequate space to fit anything other than a thin three pin plug. But as I said it is perfect for the purpose I purchased it for hence the 5 star rating.
