ebertSankey Spare Tap Water Butt Tap (Black)

Faulty - poor flow - returned for full refund. - one star.
For some reason the water flow rate through the tap was very low despite the head of water being about 1200mm above it. I widened the opening hole slightly inside the water butt but this made no difference to the flow rate. Saying that I have received a full refund off the company so cannot fault their service. Perhaps this is a one off?

Good fit, easy to install
Extremely useful item as I had two water butts inoperative due to a leaking tap on one, plus a damaged Water Butt that the tap had sheared off & gone inside. I couldn't find any Sankey replacement taps in stock anywhere & generic replacements were over £8 each & I wasn't sure they would fit well enough to fix my problem butts. I bought two of these Sankey taps when I made another Amazon purchase, as they are low cost 'add on' items. They were not only much cheaper but also the right brand & in stock. They fitted perfectly, no leaks & two perfectly good water butts are back in everyday use for less than the cost of one generic tap.

Spot on
I bought this to make a water butt for my Dad as he's just had a water meter fitted so thought he should start collecting free rain water! The tap is pretty simple and has a solid/well made feel to it. It's just a tap with a plastic (but sufficient) nut and rubber washer. The water inlet is 20mm and actual diameter is 25mm so I just cut a 20mm hole in a 100ltr blue plastic drum and forced the tap through so it was a tight fit. Put the rubber seal/ring on the inside and fastened the plastic nut on just over hand tight. Didn't silicone it or anything and it's all good. It's full of water and there are no leaks. The opening/closing mechanism of the tap is very good and I cannot see any problems at all.Good purchase.

Good
Pretty good. I bought a couple of these and they work well. I've used one as a tap for a home brewing container, and the other one as an over-flow for a water butt. Attaching a Hoze-lock hose isn't as easy as I had hoped but with a bit effort it is fine. I knocked off a star in my rating because of the quite small diameter of the washer and collar - you have to be very accurate if drilling a hole for these...a couple of millimeters oversize and you'll have a big problem.

Great Tap
I did find on arrival that it was very stiff so i put some oil in the chamber and worked it for about 5 minutes which then made it much easier to turn. I then fitted it and it was so easy to do even for an old pensioner like me.

Basic water tap, but it's not a Sankey as advertised
Purchased as a replacement for a very stiff and seized up one. This is a basic Sankey design but is made by Strata, not Sankey as advertised. However it fits the water butt, works smoothly and has a good flow.

Doesn't Drip
After breaking my water butt’s original tap I searched for a replacement and found this ebertSankey product appeared to be ‘best buy’. It comes complete with a rubbery sealing ring and a plastic locking nut. This latter item is not necessary for my water butt as the tap screws into an already threaded hole, but it would have been required if a hole had to be drilled – which would have to be 18-20mm diameter. Once fitted the tap is a bit stiff, but it doesn’t drip – so 5-stars.

Great little tap
Well it's a water butt tap, I cut a hole in the barrel and pop the thing in there. So far it hasn't leaked and I just bought two more.
