i have been listening to Marcus Miller for a couple of years and this one is one of his best work,it is rear that i like 99%of a album, but this one does it.

This is in my opinion the best record Marcus has released since "The Sun Don't Lie".A very funky record with sublime Bass playing. More mainstream than previous albums without being a boring Pop record. A good buy if you like Jazz Funk.

great album from a master bass player

As with all Marcus Miller's albums, although not his greatest, you just have crank up the volume and let the HiFi do the rest. If this album doesn't grab you then you need to renew your system. Marcus and Coronne Bailey Rae's cover of "Free" gives it a completely different feel. "Milky way" features the ever so great Keb Mo and just listen to the cover of "When I fall in love" featuring Gregoire Maret on harmonica, who appears on several tracks, with you eyes shut and volume turned up as high as your neighbours will allow you too. As for "Jean Pierre" written by Miles Davis will have him up there smiling down on Marcus saying "You've made it so soulful/jazzy/funky".

I enjoyed this album as much as any MM solo recordings. There's some great playing & catchy tunes galore. I wasn't expecting too much having read the previous review but pleased to say it doesn't disappoint. If you love Miller you'll love this without question. Marcus is the man.

One of Marcus' finest,great arrangements,very talented playing and compositions

Sehr klare Klangqualität bei kräftigem Bass. Die Bassgitarre ist wirklich phänomenal. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Un buen disco de este genial bajista mezclando multiples estilos como ya es costumbre en él y mostrando todo su repertorio de técnicas del instrumento. Muy recomendable para gente de mente musical abierta.

Quel musicien multi instrumentaliste de talent, totalement habité par son art et en totale communion avec ses amis musiciens ou chanteurs de jazz, tous de grand talent. Guitare basse, Clarinette basse ou alto sont sublimées avec lui. On redécouvre le jazz sous une forme très influencée par de multi courants mais d'une perfection surprenante, jamais ennuyeuse mais plutôt envoutante. Fortement conseillé aux amoureux du très bon son.
