I/0 THIS TO PETER GABRIEL
This album is well worth the wait from PG as it is a fine offering of assorted songs and he is in fine form and his voice is still powerful and strong after all these years. I have been waiting a LONG time for this release and it certainly does NOT disappoint at all and if you like his albums such as "So" and "Up" to mention just a few you will adore the songs on I/O.There are only two tracks that are rather stale in my views but guess others will like them but penny for penny this is well worth the buy to add to your PG collection if you are a massive fan. I am not going to go through track by track but if you love his previous work this will defiantly leave you wanting more. Hope we don't have to wait as long for his next album as I have never stopped playing I/O since buying it.

A fantastic package
As I don't have an Atmos set-up, I can only appreciate the 2 stereo versions of the album here, which are both very good and subtly different.I don't love all the tracks here, some are great, some are growers and some I don't really care for, but they're all as sumptuous as you'd expect from Peter Gabriel.

Gabriel at his best!
This has to be one of his top three all time best! The lyrics, sound-scape and production are excellent and very thought provoking. Sleeve design compliments the recording.Definitely one to add to your music collection.

Brilliant as ever from Peter Gabriel
This is a superb album and unlike some artists who lose some musicality over the years, Peter Gabriel has produced a stunning album of tracks, which are fresh, but still familiar to any fan of his work. I was surprised at how awesome his voice sounds despite many losing vocal range as they get older.

Beautiful inspiring music
Beautiful inspiring music but then, it's Peter Gabriel and in my view you can't go wrong with the man. The music is as intellectually and emotionally involving as anything Gabriel has recorded and is a must listen. Even to those who haven't always liked his previous work. This is pretty wonderful. My one gripe is with the CD packaging which while (I'm guessing) is eco friendly etc feels cheap, flimsy and clumsy in use. Nothing about it even hints at the glorious quality of the music. Pulling the discs out from their pockets in the wallet styled paper (Yes! Paper!) feels like with time it will damage them. Not good at all. I wish I'd been braver and forked out for the vinyl option to be honest. So; buy it. Listen to it. Love it. But maybe avoid the CD version if you want the full experience.

One of Peter's best albums
Peter Gabriel is probably unique in never having released a weak album. I was more than a little nervous when I ordered the 3 disc set, that this near impossible run might come to an end.I'm so glad I did though, i/o might be his best work yet. There simply isn't a weak track on the album and I simply love it. It's been played and played ever since I got it and only gets better each time you listen to it. Sonically and lyrical it stand shoulder to shoulder with any of his previous works.Buy it now. It will be the best album you've bought this decade, unless he releases another in the next 7 years.....if form is anything to go by. Stunning!

Imprescindible

This could be Gabriel's greatest work
I've been looking forward to a release of new material from Peter Gabriel for what seems like forever, and was also waiting for him to tour again to cross an item off my bucket list (which I crossed off on October 18 in Austin, TX). I'd been following his full moon releases of these songs on YouTube for the past year, and the anticipation was building. I encourage everyone who purchases this stellar album or CD to watch all of the full moon videos to learn the back story of each song, and also learn about the artwork that he chose to represent each piece. This album was a long time coming, and Peter had much to say about many topics. There is not a bad track on this album and, like much of Peter's work, it will just get better with repeated listenings. I was not a fan of his last album, Up, on the first listening of it, but it just got better every time I listened to it, and it is now one of my favorites. This album is already amazing, so I can't even imagine how I'll feel after listening to it a dozen times (which I will, and many more). I'm smelling a Grammy nomination here...I have so far only listened to the Atmos mix in my media room (although I do not have Atmos, just 7.1 surround), and it was incredible to hear. The mix is fantastic, and Peter's distinctive voice delivers every nuance of emotion. Many times, as a performer reaches Peter's age, the vocals tend to be toned down a bit, but his voice is accentuated more on this album than on any other in my opinion, and it has aged like a fine wine. The songs are about many things that one thinks about as one is on the downhill side of life. It is obvious that Peter's music leans toward the liberal side, but he is never preachy about the topics of the day, neither in his songs or when he talks about them in his full moon videos (and in his concert tour). That's just another characteristic of Peter that I love. The album has a wide range of material, from pensive ballads to African flavored rhythms, to something a little more pop-like, such as Road to Joy. I really like that song, probably because I also like Kiss That Frog, and the two songs sound remarkably similar. Maybe even too similar... You can also hear a few bars in other songs that will make you think of some of his prior work. Maybe he was reminiscing as well while composing. Still, the music is simply beautiful. I'm looking forward to hearing the entire bright-side and dark-side mixes and comparing the two. It's an interesting concept to create different mixes that can exude two different feelings or even musical preferences, as far as which instruments take on a leading role vs more of a background support. As far as the physical media itself (the 3-disc CD), it is a quad-fold cardboard design, where three compartments hold the bright-side, dark-side, and in-side mixes, and the 4th contains a booklet containing all of the music and technical credits as well as one page for each piece of artwork selected to represent the track. I was a bit disappointed not to see any lyrics in the booklet, though. If you are a Peter Gabriel fan, or are even just discovering him for the first time, this is a must-have. And I can't wait for the I/O Tour Blu-Ray to come out, because the concert was a breathtaking experience.
