If you know rock and roll, you know The Everly Brothers. And if you know The Everly Brothers you'll be familiar with most of the tunes on this CD. So - this is just a short comment on the sound quality of this recording, since it seems to be an issue for some listeners.I'm no audiophile and have probably an average sound system - nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. And for my money this recording sounds great on it. I don't know about sound compression, remastering, or much else that concerns the true audiophile. But if you dig The Everlys you'll dig this CD! Great songs that sound great to these untutored ears!Get it if you need some Everlys in your life!

I love this CD Get it if like me,you grew up listing to many of these songs on AM radio in the late 50's,.and your "musical ear" loves the sounds of the Everly Brothers I appreciate even more the Everly's harmonies as I listen to them today after remastering, and in retrospect, in my opinion have a better understanding about how much of their music influence the multitude of artists and songs that came afterward for county & bluegrass, to the British rock of the early 60's.

This 2/CD set has songs on it that aren't on the other CDs that I own. Plus the condition of the recordings are really good: no "scratchy" sound. I select one CD and listen to it all night as I fall asleep. Having a "couple" of the brothers' CDs to choose from is a blessing! The ESSENTIAL EVERLY BROTHERS has ALL the songs I love hearing over and over! Their voices are so smooth and soothing. Great relaxer, listening to the Everly Brothers!

For EB music lovers this is an excellent collection with good quality. If you must choose between ESSENTIAL and 5 CLASSIC ALBUMS, choose ESSENTIAL. I did the opposite. The best album on 5 CLASSIC... is BOTH SIDES OF AN EVENING. Some of those tunes are on ESSENTIAL with less compression, better quality. Although, I recommend purchasing BOTH SIDES OF AN EVENING, on its own, for any EB collector. I also, Highly, recommend PASS THE CHICKEN AND LISTEN. There is no better sound than the beautiful sound of the EVERLY BROTHERS. Their sound will never be equaled. EB FOREVER.

Great compilation. Ignore complaints about excessive digital compression. Unless your a audiophile and have a trained ear you won't notice anything but some great songs, terrific harmony and revived memories of days gone by. At the price sold for, this is a bargain and a keeper.

All the Everly Bros you could ask for, the ones I grew up with. Shuffled it in with my other CDs to make my own discs for my traveling playlists in the car.

wow!! Love this CD. I'm a 60s gal. Listening to them brings back so many memories. They're the best at this kind of music - timeless. They've influenced so many musicians through the years. Their harmonies are awesome. Can't go wrong with this CD. Heard some songs I'd never heard before too. You get your money's worth with this one. Enjoy!

Shame on me. I figured that a 50 song collection would have everything the boys did, so I never checked the song list. I was thrilled by Chris Hillman's 2017 version of "Walk right Back" and wanted the original. OOps, not there. Love the other 50 anyway. Good collection, good sound, great artists.
