Flying Witch 4

First content that's not in the anime - a great manga about life in rural Japan (with witches)
As you might have guessed from the title I saw the "Flying Witch" anime before I fell into the "Flying Witch" manga rabbit hole. I loved the anime and started to read the manga as I noticed there were far more manga volumes than the anime could cover. This is the story of Makoto a young witch and her life in Aomori in rural Japan. In this manga we start to see content that was not covered in the anime. We meet her witch society mentor (Akira) and are introduced to the Beach Bunny. The stories are slowly paced with great dialogue and tell a sweet romanticized version of life in Japan as a high schooler and a fledgling witch. This volume doesn't have too much Akane in it but we do learn a bit more about Inukai.I keep calling this a guilty pleasure anime. The humour is gentle and the stories flow into each other very well. It's a joy to read which won't stress you. There's no ecchi, the perils aren't too perilous and there is a joy in the life they lead. A wonderful read for all the family.

Reminescent of Kiki's Delivery Service but EVEN BETTER.
I'm really enjoying reading the Manga as much as I loved the series on Hulu. The Manga is really well done by its writer. I recommend it to anyone who has or hasn't seen its Anime. I watched initially because it has always reminded me of Kiki's Delivery Service. And because of that, if you are also a fan of Kiki then you should giving Flying Witch a shot. It keeps you entertained by following through with character development. It makes you want to find out more about the WITCHES and as well as the supporting characters, such as the Family that Makoto is staying with. Quite an excellent story.

A fun slice of life
As with others in the series, this one is generally happy and peaceful, with any conflict coming out due to circumstance and misunderstanding.I'd watched the animated series, and about half of this particular comic was covered in the show, while the other half was all new to me.I'm not looking for conflict, and am very specifically interested in reading fun things that tend to fall into the "slice of life" category, and this does so quite successfully.

Great slice-of-life manga
I kept laughing or smiling while reading the book. Lots of everyday humour… interspersed with various exposition and events which build the world and draw me in, making me want to know more. I would recommend this to those who enjoy slice-of-life and supernatural manga.
