Must Season Ceramics Before Use
We received the package with all 18 ceramic rods intact. To prevent cracking/splitting, the ceramic rods must be "seasoned" before use. We accomplished this as follows (also works for ceramic bricks/tiles): (1). place all ceramics on top of the COOKING GRATE in one layer/no stacking; (2). light the propane burner(s) and set them to the LOWEST setting; (3). close the cover (IMPORTANT); (4). allow to season for 30-45 minutes.Using an infrared laser thermometer, we measured temperatures ranging from 425 to 565 degF during the process.Notes: (a). To cook, follow steps (1). to (3). above and wait 5 minutes to allow the ceramics to heat up (LOWEST setting). (b). Turn up heat setting as required. (c). After cooking, allow the ceramics to cool down gradually, e.g., from High or Medium burner setting, turn to Low for a few minutes before turning off; (d). Keep grill cover down during cooling (IMPORTANT); it is cooled enough when you can safely touch the grill cover; (e). Never use water to cool ceramics or the grill; (f). Ceramics are self-cleaning... rotate regularly (flip for bricks/tiles) to burn off food/dripping.Even after seasoning, ceramics can still crack/shatter with rapid cooling... outer layer shrinking quicker than inner core.

Did the job
Two arrived broken, but enough to replace for my grill. Fit fine in my standard grates.

Works great at a low price!
I bought a used DCS grill, and used these to bring it back to like brand new. They are a great value compared to OEM, they fit perfectly, and work great! I cooked a big old juicy porterhouse last night with it!

Poor Quality
These started to fall apart after about 20 hours of use. Go with the original if you can find them. These are clearly after market.

Worked great during the summer, exploded at first use in spring
Replaced all radiant rods in my 36" DCS Grill last summer, along with new racks and burners. Everything works like a charm, just like when grill was new. However, went to use grill for first time this year, 72 degree outside, over half of ceramic radiates exploded after starting grill, popping like popcorn. Obviously an issue of rods being cold and being placed over heat, never had such issue with original OEM rods

Everything looks Good
I have been buying these replacement rods for years. The OEM ones are enormously expensive. This is the best price so far and they work exactly as the originals.

Broke, one by one, over a couple months.
These cannot handle the heat properly. They began breaking between 200-250 celsius... poor ceramic quality. It really became evident when I added some ceramic tiles on top of the grill grates... to assist better with flare-ups... those tiles handled the heat fine, but these rods began popping and cracking like crazy. I'd say that 1/3 have cracked thus far.
