It was not as advertised. I have used different bread and it only toasted the middle. I don't want striped bread. I decided to send it back but then found out that it is not allowed if it has been used! you have to use it to find out whether ot does as advertised. As a pensioner I cannot afford to pay for something that is of no use. I will have to buy another toaster as soon as I can afford it. DO NOT BUY

The demonstration was done by an expert it only takes three slice s of a small loaf you have to tip these out and in doing so I got some painful burns on my arm if you try and toast garlteic bread the butter runs all over and the timer does not work as shown I have needed to replace my old toaster which had nothing wrong with it. very disappointed and am still waiting after three weeks for it to be picked up

It is a very nice looking toaster. Unfortunately my husband finds it doesn't toast his wholemeal bread well enough. He has it on the highest setting.It bothers me slightly that if it doesn't toast well will it get hot enough for the other functions.

I was disappointed at the size of the toasting area. Two slices of Tesco wholemeal sliced bread only just fitted into the toaster when placed side on. It claims to be able to toast from frozen. So I tried this with same bread from frozen. I chose the maximum setting plus pressing the defrost button 3 times (the max) which gives a 30 sec increase in time. A very pale luke warm piece of bread was the result. So i put it back in on minimum setting. Then a total black charred piece of bread was the result. So don't put frozen bread in. Also I like my toast dark brown. It does not do this on the max setting. Also bread is not toasted right to the edge. On a practical note the halogen heating element (which make this much safer than conventional toasters) could probably benefit from being higher power. Manufactures please note and if you do this send me a replacement free of charge. The toasting rake does not open as wide as I thought. A very thick piece of bread would be a problem. Still it would be almost touching the heating elements so at least it might come out nice and brown. The TV ad claims it can warm pasties and similar items. I don't recall ever seeing a decent pastie that would be thin enough to fit in the toasting rack. Also the claim that cooking fish fingers from frozen sounds dubious. I would not attempt it. Good points are; it is easy to use &clean. It is safer than conventional toasters. Very unlikely that toast or anything else will ever get stuck in it. It is very stylish and takes up little room. The cooking instructions ( 'Toastology'. Whatever next? One for the OXford English Dictionary. ) are very comprehensive, but some of the claims are dubious ( up to 1 to 5 rounds of bread ??? ). I will try croissants in it but not much else. Having said all of the above, I am happy with it. Just consider the above before you buy. It suits my needs very well, but may not yours.

This is a smart piece of equipment. Love the side opening & it beeps to let you know toast is ready. Great change from top loading. Just take more care retrieving toast. Metal toast holder gets very hot.

I know that when you get a new toaster it takes a while to get it set correctly, but this didn't even change the bread colour even on 6 (its highest setting). The hype on the TV was the reason for buying this but thankfully it's on its way back and I've got the candle back out as it did a better job.

This is good for toasting things like paninis, but normal sized bread only gets toasted from the middle down.

The instruction sheets that accompany the toaster tell you what can & cannot be toasted. Drawback : Its design dictates its shape i.e. oblong, so the product takes up more counter space than a conventional toaster. Maybe a potential burn hazard to children because of side openings.
