The battery life is very short. I did one job, on my 3rd cable search, the battery died. It sucks because you can't pop fresh batteries in. This is NOT worth $63. I had to charge it for 10 minutes before I could use it again, and it died in 3 minutes. It kept me on a job for an additional 45 minutes. If I could send this junk back I would. Do not waste your money. It's garbage.

We bought a new house that had about 40 cables coming out of a cable box in one of the bedroom closets. The cables had no labels and they were for phone, internet and the security system. this cable tracer worked great to trace where all the cables went, allowing me to label them for future reference when I put my security system in and my router to supply internet to all the rooms. I only had to recharge the tester once while testing all of the cables, so it lasts a relatively long time. I was able to trace my phone cables as well, but I doubt I will be using them, but I did it because I could. The kit comes with a usb C cable for charging and a case to keep everything together. Recommended!

Ordered this days before I started a network and phone revamp in the office. One of the techs wire mapper broke as we started the job and the day before I received this kit. I gave him my blue system and I fired this one up. I was able to quickly identify and track cables with this system and found a few faults along the way. This system is very easy to use and takes no time at all to learn how to operate.Overall, a great wire tracker.
