I’ve never loved a shoe this much.
In the past three years I’ve struggled with severe plantar fasciitis. I’ve tried about fifteen insole products, including customs. I tendinitis in my toe. Then “foot drop” and found out my foot problems are from my spine. It doesn’t change that my feet hurt but it did help my understanding. Maybe some people other people have that same struggle. I’ve tried and returned probably seventy pairs of shoes. But these! Oh, geez.My other pair is Ryka that I use a semi custom in. I have Paloma Alegria for dress up and they’re fine. My big toe now stands tall on its own and I need a big toe box. I positively hate reading those ”like walking on clouds” shoe reviews. My feet are constantly like knives! But for the first time in three years, the knives are quieted. It’s stunning.Yes, the shoes aren’t the most attractive. I find them to look a little like giant black almonds on my feet. They’re very simple. But I didn’t use the orthotic from my doctor in these. I just popped my foot in... at first it was weird. But good. By the second day, fantastic. I’m obviously not fixed. And I have to wear shoes all the time or it all just gets worse. But holy heck.As a younger woman, these aren’t a dream to look at but they aren’t bad with black skinny jeans.

These SAS shoes are worth every penny you pay for them!
I ordered these shoes for my mother. She's been wearing the SAS Freetime lace up shoes for many years now. She has both the black and beige pairs. She needed a new pair of black Freetime for her dress shoes, and she took her dress pair for everyday wear. I don't mind paying the price for these shoes because they last long, are very comfortable, and there are several colors to choose from. Well worth every $1 you pay for them!

most comfortable shoes I have ever owned
I inherited a used pair of these from a friend's mom. Loved them, wore them every day for a couple of years, to the point where the size had been rubbed off the tongue, so that I could no longer determine if they were size 7 or 7.5. Anyway, when the sole finally split (widthwise, just a hair heelward of metatarsals) I decided to order some new ones, and after some emails with the SAS headquarters (contact info from SAS website, San Antonio, TX), figured out that the size I had liked so much was in fact 7.5, even though my previous size in shoes had always been size 7. Just saying this, not to detract from my praise of these shoes, but to point out that maybe some of the reason for the improved comfort was the bump up in size. Anyway, am wearing the new ones now, had recently injured my foot (turf toe, in some other shoes, doing athletic jumping in them), and I can actually move pretty well in these, even though any other shoe or slipper or barefoot still hurts quite a bit. The quality/craftsmanship in these SAS shoes is excellent, the lace hole design makes them quick to take on and off and to adjust to perfection. But what I really love is the toe room... no constriction whatsoever, and yet the fit is precise enough that they still stay snug and secure. And this is right out of the box... not the least bit stiff, and for the last 10 days or so that I have been wearing them everywhere but shower and bed, no blisters anywhere.

I'm glad to be able to get them online
Have gotten SAS shoes at local shoe store for years. I'm glad to be able to get them online. The fit was a little large, but not enough to return or order the next smaller size.Depends on what socks I wear, I guess.

Glad to find this SAS in my size
Glad to find this SAS in my size. They fit well and are just what I wanted. I always wear SAS for comfort and my bad back. They wear very well and although they are expensive they last for years. Thanks!!!!!

Last a very long time!
I have been wearing SAS shoes for many years and I love them. My last pair has survived over 4 years of daily wear and will continue to be used for yard work but I needed a new pair for public use. At 90 I do use Good Feet inserts but for younger folks the arch support that comes in the shoes will work just fine!

Great work shoes for sore feet.
I need to use an orthotic for my left foot from a poorly treated injury that has made the bones drift and look windswept. These shoes have a removable insert that allows me to fit the hard orthotic inside. That and some Dr. Scholls air pillows allows my back and hips to not hurt so much. These are wonderful work shoes.

I've worn SAS shoes for years - love them!
I am not a "shoe person" - my feet are narrow and hard to fit. Once I discovered SAS shoes, I have stuck with them. They fit my feet, are well made, and they last. I was thrilled to find my size on-line. The shoes arrived quickly and they are perfect.
