Much better than the usual horseshoe ones. It holds your head upright and you can sleep comfortably even if the back of the chair (in a car or in a plane or wherever) does not support your head properly. Very comfortable.

It does the job

I’ve had neck problems for all of my adult life (now aged 42), and see a chiropractor and get deep tissue/myofascial release massage regularly. I have a joint hypermobility and connective tissue disorder and putting neck issues down to tight muscles, but over the past couple of years I’ve developed unbearable occipital neuralgia and that’s led me to realise I have craniocervical instability which is pinching nerves. It doesn’t happen when I’m not working, only when I’m in a fixed position for too long, and I thought I’d experiment with a brace after finding that playing piano (with good posture) gives me some relief.This collar isn’t a substitute for treatment and physio but it prevents me from suffering the pain and fatigue I get when working a desk job, which tends to be resistant to any painkillers etc. I already use a support pillow at night but still often get overnight headaches and pins and needles in my arms. Wearing this at night has stopped that, a pleasant surprise. I chose this product over others as it comes in a small enough size, I’m a petite woman and most products are too big for me. It isn’t that soft or pretty, and looks basic and cheap, but I’m not exactly looking for a fashion item and it hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin at all. The only time I’ve struggled is on a long haul flight, where I found I couldn’t comfortably wear this with my over ear headphones, but I have a child sized head so that’s less likely to be an issue for most people.It’s been such a game changer that I’m ordering two more so I can have one that lives in my locker at work, and one beside the bed for overnight use.

I was having so many problems with my neck, waking every morning in pain. I tried all the neck pillows but they were not comfortable. I bought this collar for sleeping and I cannot reccomend it enough. At last I have a great solution, it is well made and not uncomfortable. I only have a small neck and medium fits perfectly.

Didn't find it of any use for my sore neck unfortunately.
