Unlike many clarifying shampoos that leave hair feeling stripped or squeaky, this one removes product buildup, excess oil, and even the dulling effects of hard water while still leaving my hair soft and manageable. The sulfate-free formula is especially great for color-treated hair since it cleans without noticeably fading color. Its formula includes antioxidants, vitamin C, and glycine to help restore shine and maintain hydration rather than leaving hair dry. The scent is fresh and clean without being overpowering, and although it doesn't create the rich lather that traditional sulfate shampoos do, it still leaves my scalp feeling refreshed. I noticed my hair had more volume, felt lighter, and stayed cleaner longer after using it. It also pairs well with a moisturizing conditioner if your hair tends to be on the dry side. My only minor criticism is that if you're expecting an ultra-intense clarifying shampoo, this formula is gentler than some salon brands. For most people, though, that's actually a benefit because it can be used more regularly without making hair feel brittle. Being in a medical profession, I'm typically skeptical when it comes to the hype of YouTubers and Tiktokers when they claim a single ingredient in your shampoo or soap is doing something detrimental to your skin/hair/etc. After all, it is mere anecdotal evidence and a subjective opinion that could vary from one person to another (one person could see results while an onlooker doesn't). However, when my hair continued to lose its volume more than three years after my last baby was born, I felt desperate and willing try anything. I have waist-length strawberry blonde hair. I didn't intentionally grow it this long; it's just just hard to find time and money to splurge on going to a salon. Likely, some of the volume loss is related to brushing and keeping my hair up and out of the way, but I also started noticing people who commented on my unique hair color were describing it as "golden" blonde, rather than "strawberry" blonde as others had in the past. I chalked it up to being over 40 and possibly losing some pheomelanin production. However, going on hormone therapy for peri-menopause didn't fix my hair volume and color the way it fixed my weight, mood, sweating, cognition etc, and I wondered if they were right about the impact of sulfates and product build-up causing dullness and loss of volume. So, I decided to look into clarifying shampoos after it was suggested for me due to loss of volume, dullness, and having oily hair. This particular shampoo is also budget-friendly, and I was already using another shampoo made by this same company - making it seem a safe choice. O...M...G...I thought I could be imagining the results I was seeing, but when I went to work and ALL of my coworkers remarked about my hair looking redder or asking if I had dyed it, when I had not told ANYONE I had switched my shampoo, I knew it couldn't be just be my imagination. It had likely removed any junky build-up from my strands, and allowed my true color to shine through. It's still too early to tell the impact on the volume, and I've changed some other variables (silk scrunchies and clips with less tension to keep my hair up and back; silk pillow cases; heat protectant for blow drying and flat iron use, etc), so even if the volume increases, it will be difficult to say what actually helped. BUT, I'm just happy my hair is back to its true color, and I'm fairly certain I have this shampoo to thank for that. Now, I did take off one star because the consistency is very thick and gooey. Even in my fine, oily, thinning hair, it takes a lot more of this shampoo to create any kind of lather or make my hair feel cleansed so that I don't feel greasy. The scent is also not as nice as their Elvive line (the one I was using prior to buying this). That said, I think it works well! My hair feels clean and my rare, special color (that is apparently "trending" 🙄) is back. That makes it well worth the price (which isn't bad at all)! I'll be recommending this shampoo to anyone who needs to revive their natural color. Now that I know it works, I'll be ordering conditioner too!

I have been using this clarifying shampoo for years. Bought countless bottles. Not only is it the best clarifying shampoo ive tried, but its the most affordable too. In my opinion the expensive ones dont work as well as this one does. Breaks down oil, sweat, dirt without being to harsh on the scalp and always leaves my hair feeling clean and voluminous.

I live in Iowa currently and have noticed a terrible difference in water quality. I typically use olaplex and I just wasn’t getting the same results. I added this shampoo and conditioner to my routine between washes with my other regular products. It has been going great, I’m finally noticing the results I used to get. It has a clean sent, the conditioner can smell slightly chemically in my opinion but that scent doesn’t stick. Overall does the trick!

works so good for build up and hard water! my hair is pretty thick and soaks up everything it touches, haven’t found a good shampoo in about a year. better than expensive clarifying shampoos. my hair was looking so greasy and heavy even right after washing, but this started clearing it immediately! if you have thick and heavy hair, this doesn’t dry it out. hair feels lighter, healthy, and better volume highlyyyyy recommend!

This clarifying shampoo works great. I have hard water that leaves my hair dull and gross feeling. After using this shampoo and conditioner one time, the buildup was gone and my hair was soft and shiny again. I also love the scent, it’s not too strong, just a nice clean smell. I will definitely buy this product again. Works great!

If you hate waste hard water does to your hair, this is the shampoo and conditioner to that will fix that. My water is so hard that even wet, my hair felt like straw. I wake up in the morning looking like Medusa. I could feel the difference in my hair as I was shampooing it. I could finally run my fingers through it even before conditioning it. Once conditioned, and dried my hair is so light and soft. I will definitely recommend this to anyone who has hard water. It smells wonderful, and it is reasonably priced.
