Cleverly designed and very useful alternative to a messenger bag
I first came across this backpack thanks to a video on Facebook, and I was very intrigued by the mechanism that solves that perennial problem of having to disentangle oneself from a backpack each and every time one wants to get something out, or put something in. The backpack arrived in good time, and mastering the mechanism to lower and raise the pack didn't take too long either, thanks to the helpful instruction videos that can be found online, and explanatory leaflets that arrived with it. In fact, I received a friendly email from the makers a few days before the pack arrived with links to those instruction videos - and it's worth checking those out, because the mechanism does take a bit of practice to get right. I still mess it up now and again - but that's down to incompetence on my part rather than any flaw in the pack, and quickly resolved.I purchased this version over the other one largely because it can carry a 15" MacBook, which I have - and it has more pockets than one can shake a stick at, so it serves as a great organiser. I took it on holiday with me for a week, and it performed with aplomb - making it possible for me to access the pack whenever I wanted without having to climb out of it. It even didn't mind being bashed about a bit while ascending and descending spiral staircases in a range of Welsh castles. Not a scuff in sight.I love the convenience of a rucksack, but loathe the tiresomeness of having to take it off all the time. This solves that issue at a stroke - and it's a brilliant idea. It's something of an urban accessory - as the publicity suggests - and you certainly wouldn't be going up Snowdon with it unless you were riding up on the little train; but for a not-very-adventurous tourist and urban worker such as myself, it's fab. My only concern was that, as I'm a singularly chunky individual, it wouldn't reach round to my front - but it does! The overall build of the backpack is very good, the quality of the materials excellent. The lifting and lowering mechanism, once you get the hang of it (which doesn't take that long), is singularly nifty and oh, so convenient. I find wearing a standard rucksack on my front very uncomfortable and insecure - as though it's going to fall off at any minute - so I appreciate the ease with which I can carry this one to the front or the back while the straps themselves stay firmly on my shoulders. It's a great idea, and I'm very pleased with mine.

Didn't even last a year.
Despite cool-looking videos showing effortless release of the pack, I've struggled to get mine to do what I want it to do! Eventually I do get it to release so that I can swing it round to the front but to be honest, it's a bit of a faff...Also - the fact that there is a separate holster for the whole product (the bit that stays put when the bag swings down and round) makes it feel quite restrictive to wear, quite bulky and heavy.First impressions, then, are not great: it seems fiddly rather than intuitive, and the holster (can't think of another word for it!) will, I'm sure, be hot and sweaty especially in the summer. Not that happy with it tbh.01.08.16 - Review update: I've had this backpack less than a year and the zip on the main compartment has already gone. Now the whole thing is useless. I'm not a 'heavy' user; just back and forth to work each day. I don't over-stuff it so that was no undue strain on the item. Can't recommend at all. Down to 1 star.

Great idea but unfortunately the mechanism is too temperamental
Great idea but unfortunately the mechanism is too temperamental. Bought this for my wife's birthday and while she could operate it based on the instructions after a little practice once loaded with laptop etc. she couldn't operate the mechanism consistently at all. Bag is well made but doesn't have waist support so is limited to light loads. Wolffepack were efficient in delivery and processing the return with no issues. So in terms service 5 stars but effectiveness of the design only 2.

Excellent product and customer service.
I have owned a Wolffepack Metro backpack for over three years. The Metro is one of the most comfortable and functional backpacks I have ever owned. The multiple internal storage pockets provide ample storage for small items, laptop and/or tablet, along with general storage areas. I find it has adequate space for both my daily needs and those of my guide dog.Unfortunately after three years one of the zip fasteners broke. I contacted Wolffepack to find out if it could be repaired. They informed me that it was covered by their lifetime warranty. After providing them with proof of purchase, a brand new replacement Metro backpack was delivered within a couple of days. With a great product coupled with excellent customer service, I have no hesitation in recommending Wolffepack products.

Too difficult to return bag to original position
I bought this bag to try and use for my camera equipment as it drives me crazy having to constantly take my backpack off to change lenses. I went for the larger size so that it would accommodate my laptop. The bag seemed of good quality with lots of space and pockets to store my various pieces of equipment. I found it was easy to release the bag and swing it round to the front to gain access to my stuff. However, for me, the downfall lay in trying to get the bag to re-attach at the back. You have to give it a good, firm pull on the cord in a very specific direction. When empty it wasn't too bad but took me several attempts each time. I kept practising over the course of one week, watched the video demo, read the instructions etc and wasn't able to improve on the number of unsuccessful attempts. I then attempted to do it with my laptop in the bag (not even all my equipment) and found that I didn't have the strength to pull it back up. I'm not the strongest person so someone with a little more muscle might be able to do it better than me. I therefore, sadly, gave up and asked to return the bag. The response from the company was quick and they offered a full refund. The only downside to that was that the original postage I paid was £3.99 but when I went to the post office, it cost me nearly £8 to return it, which meant I ended up out of pocket. I think the concept of what they're trying to do is sound but for me, the mechanism needs more work.

Tolles, einzigartiges System, fast perfekt.
Man muss dann beide Hände benutzen. Stoff ausgefranst... sehr schade.
