Well Made & Sturdy
Since my Epson LS12000 weighs nearly 30 lbs, I needed a sturdy pipe to hold it securely, and this worked well. I also ordered a bracket, that connects to 2 studs in the ceiling (vs only 1), making it more secure. This is universal so will fit just about any NPT brackets.

Does what it needs to. Very sturdy.
Not much to say. Its a metal threaded rod and it does its job well. Sturdy material and plenty of thread so I feel my ceiling mounted projector is well secured.

Works great
This was exactly what we needed for mounting our new projector. Works great and holds a hefty projector pretty well. Seems strudy and looks great.

Too bad, as the tube seems to be high quality
Just got my 2ft QualGear extension to replace a 1ft Omnimount extension. Expected this to be a simple switch. Not so: the QualGear extension tube I received is described as "NPT-compatible", but it does not follow NPT standards, in that it is not tapered. NPT standard dictates a 1-in-16 taper on the threaded part (male ends are narrower, female ends are wider). The diameter and the threading pitch do match, so you can start threading the extension pipe into an NPT coupling, but it will block after too few turns, because the internal diameter of the NPT female coupling decreases as the male end goes in deeper. The result: the extension does not fit properly (it's loose in terms of angle, because it's a straight piece jammed inside a cone, so it has some angular freedom) and cannot be fixed into place with the coupling's set screw (because it does not go in deep enough).Too bad, as the tube seems to be high quality, with a handy cap over the old-fashioned (for large plugs) huge opening common in most such pipes. I'd have been happy to use it, but it cannot be used with the two NPT couplings of my Omnimount holder, so I am going to have to return it.

High quality and worth the price
Well engineered extension pipe. It has a nice powder coat finish, an opening for routing cables (with cap if you don't need it) and greased threading so you can install without resistance. They also provide a color manual with well written instructions which is a rarity these days.

Solid, strong
Well built, the drop-down bar and the mount are pretty awesome. The cutaways on the pipe are nice, even though I did not need them. The threads worked perfect, everything was what I expected or better

Solid, quality product!
The price was so good, I was afraid of getting a "you get what you paid for" product. I needed this to extend off of an existing "big name" A/V branded pole. I was excited when I found this, yet, in all transparency, I expected a thin, soft aluminum pipe that would make me wonder about the integrity of my project. However, I was COMPLETELY wrong! I ordered this extension as well as the suggested coupling. The material is solid! Well made and NOT a thin, soft aluminum. - Completely satisfied with this product and will continue to buy QualGear accessories!

Incomplete pipe thread
Like the cable management and powder coated finish but had to give low score due to the 1 1/2" pipe thread not being fully threaded so would not screw into adjacent fittings. Was committed to completing the installation so had to rent a 1 1/2" pipe tapping tool to get it to fit.
