Chef'n PalmZester Citrus Zester (Avocado)

It is perfect. I use it and I peel off my vegetables very quickly.

I'm surprisingly impressed with this purchase! The grater works beautifully. It is small but that's what it's intended to be. The peeler works so smoothly, I was very surprised at how well and quickly it does the job.

Better to use and clean up than my microplaner, which is why I got it, but it’s kind of hard to maneuver the large handle around lemons, which confuses me since one of the descriptions says it’s been improves to BE larger. It is really cool that it collects all the zest into the handle as you go, so minimal cleanup. Like I said, it’s really easy to clean. And if you want longer pieces of peel for garnishes, etc., there are 3 wider blades on the end of the zester and it’s easy to make successful lemon peel curls, even for a rookie like me who was experimenting for the first time. So, my only complaint is that, with a microplaner you can just lay it over a bowl and run each side of the citrus over the top to get zest, but you have to repeatedly attack each area and side of the lemon to get all of the zest. It’s redeeming quality is that it keeps the zest in the handle and it’s much easier to clean.

I love this little gadget. It is very simple to use, comfortable on your hand allowing better safety when zesting than other methods and the collection chamber makes gathering your zest a lot easier as well. I also ordered one for my uncle after using it and seeing how easy it was. He has hand dexterity issues and this has made it a lot easier for him.

We travel every winter to a warm climate for 6 weeks, and I bring my own knives, knife sharpener & spices to stock our rental kitchen. I purchased this compact zester last April 2023, after returning from our trip, to add to my travel tools but just used it now for the first time, on this trip. Simply put, it’s terrible, it doesn’t remove the zest at all. I tried using a thin blade to individually lift each metal scraper, hoping the raised blades would cut into the skin - but that it did nothing! It’s useless and will be in the trash instead of my kitchen travel case headed back home. Waste of money.

I was using a cheese grater to zest before. This gadget changed my life! Love how it collects all the zest. Easy to clean and use!

It's a shame because I really love this brand, but I just felt this zester worked terribly. It was hard to tell what direction you're supposed to zest in because every direction yields equally poor results. It felt like I was shredding up my lemon rather than zesting it. I'm rating it 3 stars because, despite it not working well, I do believe it was still made well, and I like the design feature of the removable compartment where the zest collects. I just wish the blades were better designed. I'll stick with my much larger microplane zester in the meantime.

To hard to use

Be very careful when putting the outer case back on after cleaning as it grated a deep gash in my thumb!! it does work well if though for orange and lemon grating!!

My first Chef'n product was the peeler which I absolutely love and then I came across this as it was advertised by email from Amazon. This zester is the best zester I have ever used. This is so easy to clean and makes zesting very very easy. The fact that is fits nicely in your hand makes for very easy zesting and I love that is stores the zest inside. Now I'm not one to use a massive amount of zest or garnish a lot of meals, so this holds far more then I will ever need it to right inside the internal compartment. In the end I would have to say that I very highly recommend this product for anyone.
