Concert For George 2

The content is a must have if you are a George Harrison fan. I opted for the DVD instead of the Blue Ray because I read many reviews that there wasn't much difference in image quality and the DVD version was a bit less money. You get the double CD version of the Concert and 2nd version of the show if you want to skip the introductory portion of the event. The video audio is in 5.1 and sounds great. Crank it up and enjoy!

I think this was an excellent tribute for George, by some of his best friends! The music of George Harrison showcased his talent as an equal to John and Paul as a writer in the Beatles, and as a solo artist. He is truly missed by his fans all over the world, not only for his music but as a person who cared about the well being of others whom he raised money to help and aid. Buy this cd and you will not be disappointed! I think is a true tribute to a really down to earth guy. Rest In Peace George, and thanks for the memories!

The content was - as expected - brilliant. I had never heard of this concert (ashamed to admit for an in-heart music lover) and bought with only my hopes. Those hopes were based on the Concert for Bangladesh that I about wore out on 8-track, which I still have in physically fairly good condition.I was not disappointed! I watched the “complete” Blu-ray straight through... all 2 hours and 26 minutes. Video quality was okay, but what I really cared about was the DTS 5.1 audio track, to get the uncompressed sound. It was fantastic!Others have gone through the content, so I won’t bore you with more commentary. Only one disappointment, which has been noted by others: the CDs do not have “Horse to Water”, sung by Sam Brown. That a missing gem in my opinion. Can’t find it other than MP3, which is truly disappointing.But that doesn’t change my 5 star rating. I haven’t as yet listened to all of the CD content or Blu-ray Disc 2, but already love it If this was recorded on film, maybe someday we’ll get a release using better than 30i (interlaced) with a slightly muddled look... maybe real HD or UHD transfer. Regardless, I recommend getting this set. It is magical!

Loved watching this in HD. I'd seen parts of this here and there, but this was outstanding, from the traditional Indian music with sitars to the ensemble jams at the end with the numerous musicians including George Harrison's former bandmates. Great product, great turnaround time.

packaging was terrific. delivery was spot on , there was nothing to dislike.

If you saw, as I did, the Concert broadcast on PBS-TV, you know how great it was.I purchased my 2-disc CD set from: QualityCD&DVD seller. Listened to it all today and it is GREAT! Sound is Excellent, No skipping, not anything wrong with it. I just ordered another for a gift.*HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Have had the original DVDs going back to their origin. Fantastic video and especially audio. If you have a decent quality Blu-ray audio system, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this if you were a George or Beatles fan. The tribute concert was absolutely fantastic!Additional side note: Same thing regarding the Blu-ray version of Abbey Road. Expensive set, but great pics, storylines, 3 CDs in addition to the B/R. The sound quality - especially the bass - will blow your tooshie away.

If you love the music of the Beatles, George's solo career, the Traveling Wilburys and artists like Eric Clapton or Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers amongst others, this title should be in your collection. A true heartfelt tribute for a great musician by his closest an dearest friends full of love, friendship and good music, three shows: indian music, humour and a great rock concert with wonderful players. The following deaths of Billy Preston, Michael Kamen and Tom Petty just add more value to this concert and movie.

No voy a decir cuánto me costó porque fue una oferta de locos y ya nadie querrá comprarlo al precio que regularmente está incluso con alguna buena oferta, pero es la mejor compra del año. Años atrás siempre adelantaba en el dvd pirata que tenía (xD) la parte de Ravi y los Monthy pero ahora es la que más disfruto, sobre todo una pieza musical de más de 20 minutos, el bluray se ve muy bien y también el sonido es excelente, definitivamente cómprenlo ya que también incluyen la muscia en dos discos compactos, perfecto para la coleccion beatles y george harrison

I bought this for my Mom, and she absolutely loved it. She played the 2 cds at least a dozen times, and has watched the dvd's a hundred times

Fin d'année 2001, George Harrison décède, d'un cancer. Un an plus tard, Brainwashed, son dernier album, sort, de manière, donc, posthume. Un disque produit par son ami Jeff Lynne, qui joue sur le disque, tout comme Dhani, fils de George (et qui a choisi lui-même l'ordre des morceaux apparaissant sur Brainwashed). En cette même année 2002, plusieurs artistes de renom se réunissent au Royal Albert Hall de Londres pour un concert qui sera filmé et enregistré (le tout sortira en 2003) : Concert For George. C'est Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne et Dhani Harrison qui sont aux commandes de ce tribute concert. La première partie du live est constituée de musique indienne (notamment un long Arpan de 23 minutes dirigé par Anoushka Shankar, fille de Ravi, lequel ne participe pas activement au concert), une des nombreuses facettes de la musique d'Harrison, et la deuxième partie du live (le second disque) est constitué de reprises de chansons d'Harrison, par moult artistes. Cet écart est vraiment imposant, le premier CD pourrait être casé en deux exemplaires sur le second, mais bon, c'est comme ça, on s'y fait. Et puis ça distingue vraiment les deux parties du concert. Un concert auquel participent donc Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, Anoushka Shankar (uniquement la première partie, de même que les autres n'apparaissent que dans la seconde, Lynne excepté), Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Billy Preston, Joe Brown, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Dhani Harrison, Gary Brooker. Du beau linge, comme on dit. Au programme d'un concert rendant hommage à ce grand mec qu'était Harrison. Un album (et un DVD) essentiels à tout fan d'Harrison et des Beatles, Concert For George est un disque sublime qui donne envie de (re)découvrir l'oeuvre solo de ce grand monsieur parti trop tôt (il n'avait pas 60 ans), en 2001

Per i beatlesiano un'occasione da non perdere questo box set che contiene - per la prima volta in assoluto stampato su vinile - il concertoche si tenne presso la Royal Albert Hall a Londra il 29 novembre 2002 come tributo in memoria di George Harrison a un anno dalla sua morte. L'evento fu organizzato dalla vedova di Harrison, Olivia, e dal figlio Dhani, sotto la direzione musicale di Eric Clapton e Jeff Lynne (che fu anche produttore dell'album). I profitti dell'evento furono sostenuti dalla Material World Charitable Foundation, un'organizzazione istituita da Harrison e che ancora oggi grazie al lascito dell'artista su alcuni diritti editoriali sostiene progetti benefici.Il box come sempre per il repertorio Beatles è stampato con grande cura, contiene un booklet con belle foto, crediti e altri interessanti testi sulla produzione del progetto. Gli LP sono molto silenziosi e suonano benissimo.
