Great winter hat!
One year review: warm, well made, TWO LAYERS, REAL WOOL (moth holes in mine as proof), keeps its shape, and fits perfectly (my head is small/medium, if you have a big ol’ Mellon head then it’ll be tight). I like that I can pull it down low over my ears and back of my neck when the wind kicks up. The brim helps to block sun glare from my eyes, but isn’t so large that it causes snow to build up on the brim and melt. Just be careful how you store it in the off season; it IS wool and therefore needs to be cared for and stored appropriately so that the moths don’t find it. Speaking from experience, it’s a bummer when you take it out of storage for the first time, looking forward to wearing it again, and find a few unwanted “vent” holes in it courtesy of the friendly neighborhood moth.

Keeps its shape and adds warmth without looking sloppy
My husband had been wearing this brimmed beanie regularly, and it has been comfortable and practical for everyday use. The brim holds its shape well and gives a bit of structure instead of collapsing like softer beanies. It fits snug without feeling tight and stays in place without needing constant adjustment. The material is warm but breathable enough to wear indoors briefly without overheating. After multiple wears, it has not stretched out or lost its form. This feels like a beanie you can actually style, not just throw on for warmth.

nice y2k lookin beanie
fits kinda tight (like starts to get uncomfortable where the brim is) but hopefully it’ll loosen up with wear. other than that it’s solid!

Poor quality
Poor design, cardboard bill that doesn’t hold up. Also wears small for the average size boy/man.

Radar O'Reilly would love this great quality and value by Rothco
My wife and I walk a lot (between 6-8 miles a day, over hills) in winter weather (temps often between 20-30 degrees F), so we need a hat that is warm, wind/water resistant, and breathable (a hat that is too warm/heavy will leave your head soaked in sweat during a good walk/hike). We got two Rothco knit caps (they are what we would call "Jeep caps" or "radar O'Reilly/MASH caps") - they both have brims), one made of blue wool (made in the USA or India), the other made of black acrylic (made in China). Both hats perform very well in the cold temps I described, plus in 10-15 mph winds, and moderate rain and snow. The wool cap stays warm when wet (which is why sailors have always used wool) and the acrylic does too. Both are very comfortable (the wool is very high quality - I didn't find it rough). The blue wool cap is more like a traditional Jeep cap in that it has a short, straight brim, the black acrylic one has a longer curved brim (see the image) - your choice as to which you prefer - either are a great deal (they can be had for under $10). You can't go wrong with either of these!

Tight fit and shrinks
Was very tight to begin with, and shrank so bad the first time I washed it, it wouldn’t even fit my head.

It's a well made jeep cap.
It fits like i want it to! But if you want it to fit like it does out of the package wash it in cold water dry on low or air dry cause it will shrink i have a smaller head so I did wash and dry in warm and dryed it on medium heat.

Comfortable, warm, good looking wool knit cap with visor
The thick material does not let much light through. Should retain heat and block some wind, yet still breath. This soft wool does not itch. Fits my 54 cm head snugly without leaving a mark on my forehead. There is some excess material on top when the cap sits halfway up my ears but, disappears when pulled down below my ears and covers the back of my head and neck very well. I'm liking this wool cap more than the acrylic caps I have of the same style. This one will provide better protection in very cold weather. I like this GI Jeep style with a visor. Black looks great but does show lint. It's made in India but the stitching seems to be flawless.

This cap gets full points. Is it large enough? Yes! I wear XL (61 cm for helmets) and this cap fits fine. Is the brim solid? Yes! It feels like plastic so it won’t get deformed and will withstand getting washed. Is it warm? Yes! Double layered, and soft enough to make me wonder if it’s a wool blend. Does it make me look like Radar? Sadly, no, but I can’t take points off for that.

Brim holding the stiffener unstitched itself and it shrank to nothing in a cool wash.

Have worn reqular wool beanies for many many years. This version is warm, fits my head nicely like the overall look, if snowing the brim adds a little more protection. May get another one, in olive.

It’s a weird fit. It’s super tight for a 7 1/4 size head and there’s way too much fabric at the top. It doesn’t look like the images. It’s a strange fit.

Visor could be smidgen larger. Plenty of stretch, I have a 59-60cm circumference head. Well made!
