I was looking for a shampoo and conditioner for my Cavalier King Charles that would leave his coat shiny. I’ve used Veterinary Formula products before and decided to try the Smart Coat Complex shampoo and conditioner. I really like the shine it gives and how it helps the fur lay flat, making it look much less frizzy. I’m not a big fan of the scent, though—it has a powdery floral smell that reminds me of an old-fashioned perfume and lingers for a few days. That said, it’s reasonably priced for the amount you get.

I have a schnoodle, old English bulldog and havanese mix this made their fur so soft and fluffy. Easy to brush after too and it smells so good! This will be a regular used item for bath time!

Probably closer to 3.5 stars but Amazon is still not allowing us to do that.It sprays easy and smells good. But I adopted a cat that had a nasty clump/knot in his tail fur and this did NOTHING for it except make it wet. I just brushed him and monitored it and eventually it loosened up enough I could just snip it out.So I’m kinda meh about this. This stuff is a GAME CHANGER for double coated dogs. Never have I had a conditioner that just sloughed the fur off as quickly and easily as this one. I thought my husky had matting developing on his hind end, but one wash with this stuff brought that extra fur right off. And it didn’t make him itchy! Definitely will be a go-to from now on.
