You will need to cut a slot in the tag to use both the tag and the cover.
I bought the ON/Off with Safety Cover version of the switch. In order to install both the safety cover and the ON/Off metal tag, you must cut a slot into the tag in order to allow it to fit so that it is visible. The switches seem fine, but did not work in my application. This is an SPST switch. I needed a DPST switch.

These are the neatest switches ever they’re very easy to install and they’re durable. I had to install a start button on my son‘s right on tank and it looks so cool cause it looks like he’s dropping a bomb somewhere the universal which size of it and everything fits perfectly
