Gutermann Natural Cotton Thread Solids 876 Yards-Vanilla Cream

Excellent cotton thread for quilting and free motion embroidery. Gorgeous color, shred-resistant, and leaves minimal lint in the sewing machine.

Gutermann is my favorite brand of sewing thread. It's the very best value for the money. Consistent quality and does not break easily. Works well for both machine and hand sewing.

Great thread. Doesn't snap or tangle easily though I do condition with wax sometimes too. Perfect color for my project using undyed cotton muslin. I like that it is so big too, I will be able to use this for multiple projects. After using this I went on to buy other Guternmann threads (invisible for English paper piecing and quilting cotton thread in a very similar color to use later in the same project as this thread used to joint the pieces). Only used with hand sewing, not sure how it is with other types.

Two things: the color and the quality. I was looking for a rich ivory color to use with my very special fabric choice that required JUST the right cream/ivory/off-white, what have you! You say you shouldn’t get excited about thread, but artists and seamstresses know - color is everything. Now, quality; this thread was a natural cotton for multiple uses - there was never an incident of breakage of this thread, which made my job so much easier! NOTE: with the closing of so many brick-and-mortar stores it’s had to find a good selection of thread choices. As a result, I have been forced to order online, something tough for a girl who likes to see and touch before purchase - however, THIS thread exceeded my expectations and I would order any other related product from this company. Thank you.

Some time ago I bought a cheap assortment of thread, which worked fine for small hand-stitching projects like repairs. But when I bought a sewing machine and tried to use that thread, it kept breaking—five or six inches of stitching and then pop! So I bought this Gutermann thread and like it so well I now have a pretty good collection, despite the price (much higher than that old cheap assortment) and need to do a bit of hunting to locate all the color varieties. I buy only 100% cotton thread as I sometimes dye an item after I’ve sewn it, but Gutermann also has a polyester blend thread that is less expensive. I’m pretty confident that their blends are high quality as well.

Love the Thread. It's a very nice thread to use for quilting. It arrived in great shape. The delivery time was inferior. I was supposed to have it in Amazon Prime faster time. This was not the case. It was hung up in the North East for days before it finally started moving towards my area.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: My machine loves this brand of thread above all others. Always strong, doesn't curl or twist. Stitches are clean with no puckering or pulling. The amount of thread is a good value.
