Don't believe the fake reviews
"I was in it" so it gets 5 stars. "I received it" so it gets 5 stars. "Data is in it" so it gets 5 stars. Did any of these previous reviewers actually watch this??? What a mess. I have been a fan of Philip Glenister since the original "Life on Mars" but his Reverend Anderson is a poorly written character. I hate to speak ill of the dead, but Reg E. Cathey's sheriff would be run out of any other town for corruption or incompetence (or both). Character motivations are all over the place, and the rules for the "demons" or whatever the heck they are seem to change from episode to episode. Creator Robert Kirkman also created "the Walking Dead' and that show has become an unwatchable disaster as well. There are so many better shows out there. For a well-written take on exorcism and demons, check out Mena Suvari in "South of Hell" - her character is so good as an exorcist because she herself is possessed. Even Fox's "Exorcist" series is much more interesting and well-written. And if you really need to see Brent Spiner, go back and rewatch old episodes of Star Trek:TNG. Don't waste your time with this. There's a reason this set is "make on demand" rather than in stores.

A new spin on the Demon Possession genre only R. Kirkman could helm
Super unique take on demon possession that provokes deep thought about what existence in this universe actually means. Some gore is involved but it's not gratuitous. Great cast.

A fresh take on a tired genre. Compelling TV.
This is a good show. A refreshing take on the genre. The acting solid throughout. Fugit really shines in this leading role. It's well-shot. Adam Wingard of "You're Next" and "The Guest" did the pilot and seems to have a credit as a consultant throughout (I'm sure as watchdog for the visuals). Really the only reason it's not five stars is that there's just so much good TV out there and this doesn't quite reach the upper tier. It's still VERY good though.
