This chime has been a life saver for my classroom. I work with non verbal kids with special needs and at least once a day we have a Child who wanders out of the classroom. We usually can’t hear the door being opened due to the volume of noise our kids create. This little door alarm is loud enough and sensitive enough when the door is opened to alert us to all possible escapees. You can change the volume and the tune It plays easily. The face lights up and flashes as well so even if you have earphones on, you have a visual alert. Super easy to install, It took less than 5 minuets. No tools needed, just use the double sided tape included. We have used It for two months now and the tape is showing no signs of wear or weakness. I am also happy to report, we have had no children slip out since installing this door chime. As soon as we hear the chime we are able to get to the child at the door and redirect them to where they are supposed to be.

I need an indicator to tell me if a door is ajar or open at the back of the house so we don't depart leaving the distant door open. White this device works well as an enunciator, it does not continue to indicate that the door has been propped open or is ajar. What I wanted was for a light to turn on and stay on if a sensor-equipped door was open. I may need to rig a micro switch and hardwire it to an LED.This would be perfect for a self closing door or a door that is always closed after being opened, like a business.The chime/musical tune has four volume levels plus mute. On mute, the light behind the smiley face stays lit for about ten seconds, then turns off. The light also illuminates if the chime sounds. You can select from 32 different little tunes. You could tell which door was opened by assigning different tunes to different transmitters.The transmitter (the parts you attach to the door) is powered by a 12v23A small cylindrical battery, about half the length of an AAA battery. The transmitter has two parts. One part houses the battery and transmitter; the other has a magnet. When the two parts are within .4" of each other, the system is in standby. If the door opens so that one part separates by more than .4" the transmitter triggers and tells the receiver to chime for a few seconds and flash its light, then it shuts off, even if the door remains open.You could rig this to tell you the garage door is opening, but, again, it would not tell you the garage door had been left open.So, while this unit is not exactly what I need, I will find a use for it elsewhere.

I ordered this to track my disabled son who is non verbal. It alerts me with two chimes that he has opened his door as he wakes up 2-4 times a night and it decreases my anxiety about having every external door triple locked. I have the receptive plug in my bedroom and any time the door is opened or closed it chimes with two classic “ding dong” doorbell chimes. Thought this was important because if you wanted to have different chimes, some I looked at were alarms, so they continued ringing until the door was shut. This device does NOT do that, it chimes twice and no longer.As always, fast and free delivery with amazon prime.

It works as well or better than others we have had. Good selection of sounds, volumes. Had it for a few months now, no complaints. Happy-face is a bit annoying to look at, staff has drawn moustache on it, and have found it plugged in upside down when they're having a bad day.

lasted exactly 4 months. Just randomly stopped responding to the door opening. Customers would walk in and start yelling for us in the back. I expected at least a warning if the battery was running out but no fail safe installed. All the tunes are some russian folklore festival music. 1-2 tunes are usable. Pay a little more an get another one.

It seemed to work really good for the first week. Not it works when it wants to. We have tried adjusting it but nothing helps. So it works when it wants and we can't seem to do anything about it. Was very disappointed it the quality.,Would have been very helpful as my back door is not in sight of my kitchen so I don't know when someone is walking in.

I was a little skeptical of this product base don it's low cost. Once i got it it only took 2 minutes to have it installed and working. It works great and has great range. I bought this for our front office at work so the receptionists know if someone walks in while they are away from their desk. The volume is very good and clear tones. I highly recommend this door chime.

Definitely does not have the range it claims. Good for about 70 feet. 90 feet and it won’t receive signal. I tried it with a Straight shot between the receiver and signal at about 5-7 feet off the ground. Nothing blocking the signal and it wouldn’t work. But it works great at 70 feet or less.
