Exceptional (as expected) AND....
The blade mowed through hair like all blades of this sort should, though all brands do not. This is the first time I've used Andis detachable blades, as I have always owned Oster blades in the past, but I've always trusted Andis machines. Since I got the Andis Supra ZR II, which uses detachable blades, I decided to buy all brand new Andis blades. The barber supply I used did not have two of them, so I got them on Amazon. This was priced pretty good for the blade size and the seller checked out good. The blade being high quality was nothing big; it should be. That's where the seller comes in. Some will sell used or returned items as new, and some will even sell you counterfeit or knockoff items. Not this seller. My blade was brand new, in original packaging, and it was not something "new, old stock" that had been sitting somewhere for years discoloring. I will be doing business with this seller in the future. One last thing, the ceramic cutters are fare better than the regular metal ones.

Excellent
Trying to save some money, I bought another brand that fit my Andis trimmer. It dulled out after a couple of uses and was pulling the hair. So I went back on Amazon and got a Andis blade. It works perfectly nice and sharp . I cut both of our dogs hair easily.

Shears a dog
My dog is weird, and seems to think of shearing day as spa day. My dog is a hybrid of border collie, sheepdog, rottweiler, black bear, and pig. Needless to say his undercoat is thick, and usually gross because of the black bear and pig lineage. He rolls, and wallows. The sheepdog in him needs airflow, while the sleek cocker spaniel layer on top wants to grow til it reaches the floor. #2 blade lifts the undercoat like butter, except it doesn't smell like butter, it smells like rotten fish. That's not the blade's fault. #2 for dense undercoat, and #5 finish cut blade for the paw fur is what I use on this fur beast. Can't go wrong with Andis, the blades take forever to dull, they only get hot after an hour of use, which if you have my dog, you'll be shearing for 2 hours, but at least you won't have paid a professional only to pay again in 2 months. The attached picture is of my dog post-spa after I removed a grocery bag full of fur. Given that this was his second shearing in 3 months, there was only 1 bag of fur instead of the usual 2. I don't know what he expects me to do with the fur, but he glares at me when I've put it in a bag. He then runs around outside and promptly finds something to roll in. If Andis could create an anti-rolling option, that would be great. I don't recommend attempting to shear an actual bear, by the way. My dog is not really a bear or a pig, he just smells and acts like one.

Smooth cutting
If you like clippers for short (but not too short) hair, this blade is good for that. While Andis makes both half-ceramic and all-steel blades, the half-ceramic blades run cooler, stay sharp, and are much more quiet in operation. A lot of people consider clippers with interchangeable metal blades to be "pets-only" but I can tell you personally that they work very well on humans! Moreover, these blades have nice rounded corners and are far more comfortable for the scalp than plastic combs on a "standard" clipper blade. Keeping the blade properly lubricated and limiting the running time as short as possible will ensure that the blade does not get scorching hot. Having a set of graded cutting lengths allows one to easily achieve a summer "fade" haircut.

Perfect for Grooming Mini Schnauzer Without a Guard
This blade leaves my mini schnauzer's coat the perfect length without using a blade guard. It's easy to attach to my Andes trimmer. The blade is durable. With care, it can last 20+ years. I groom my dogs every 6 - 8 weeks saving $50 per dog in grooming fees each time. That's a pretty great value in my book! The blade is easy to slide onto and off of the trimmer and is easy to clean. I highly recommend!
