Superb
The only thing wrong with this album is there is not more songs on it.i scepticaly listened to this album and was pleasantly supprised by what i heard. This paragraph taken from there website describes them well:"Evaline, formerly known as Holiday, has been across the music scene of central and southern California since the summer of 2001. Self-driven and promoted, these five guys are doing what they do for the love of their music and the fact that it will be the only real jobs they will have in their lives. They simply play music that is within their reach and doing so creates a blend of heavy coordinated guitars, melodic piano, drum beats to knock your socks off, steady pumping bass, and vocals that can be both aggressive and catchy. With the name change in 2004, Evaline released their first EP, recorded at Mountain View Studios, as a new band. This CD, along with other new material is what keeps this band busting their asses off and playing nothing short of a captivating live performance."Well worth buying, you wont be dissapointed.

This EP is amazing! Six powerful
This EP is amazing! Six powerful, hard hitting emotional rock tracks that carry a different mood. The EP opens with "La De Da", which is an amazing story in itself. What I love most about this CD is that it's its own concept album, while not necissarily being a "concept album" persay. The liner notes state that the title itself "Postpartum Modesty: A Portrait of Skin" describes the state of being human. We all have our own perceptions of ourselves (the portrait of skin). These 6 songs take you through life as a sceninc thrill ride, and give you insight of the fact that you are not alone in your negative thoughts. Everyone has them. I love this EP, and I listen to it often. I highly recommend it for those who are looking for something that stands out from the rest of the emo, post-hardcore scene. If you enjoy bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, From Indian Lakes, Days Away, YouInSeries; then this EP is for you.

Easy to listen to..
After seeing them perform in SF during the Taste of Chaos tour (they had one of the most interesting live performances, with lots of jumping around and writhing on the stage), I decided to get their CD. Their music is surprisingly mellow; it took a few listens to get used to it, but I like it. Be warned: it's a bit whiny; however, their stuff is definitely well-produced, and they shouldn't change their sound. My favorite song on their CD is "Where the Fearless Hide".

very nice
No they don't sound like every generic big label band. This ep is on of the more impressive debut's of the year (they also stood out at Warped Tour, as well as Taste of Chaos). Don't let the fact that Quinn Allman(the Used) produced this release give you false expectations, this is impressive. It's not too in your face, and it's layered very well. The first two tracks are the strongest.

For fans of Brand New, Codeseven, and Hopesfall
I was absolutely blown away at the debut EP from up and comers Evaline! Everything from the beautiful and sometimes morbid lyrics, to the excellent music score produced by the talented guitarist Quinn Alman from The Used. I happend to see the second half of their set on the 2007 Rockstar Taste of Chaos, considering the fact that I arrived late, and was incredibly moved by their performance. Though while live, they don't have the most energy in the world as apposed to the other bands on tour like Chiodos, Aiden, or Senses Fail, however the expertly done songs make up for that. I expect to hear a lot from Evaline in the near future. I can't wait for their full-length to come out and blow the world away!
