So bad it's good.
This is my first Marmit fig and I didn't know what to expect. It came in a brown box with the fig inside loosely wrapped in clear plastic bag. There was no blister pack to prevent it from shaking about in the box. I guess it doesn't matter since it's vinyl.I was a little disappointed when I took it out n the first thing I noticed was the gap at the back of the neck. The product picture also shows it. Whether it's a defect or done on purpose I do not know but it seems all are like this. Despite that, the head rotates fine. Arms, legs, n tail also rotate. The tail doesn't extend straight but bends to its left. The next thing that caught my attention was there isn't a gap between the jaws although the mouth is supposedly open. It's just painted red with teeth partially sculpted around the red vinyl. It can't stand without the tail to support as the weight of the tail will cause it to lean back. I tried to adjust the leg so that both feet n the tail are in contact with the surface but the whole feet don't touch the surface flat. It is stable but the feet just don't rest flat because of the angle the leg joints are made. The right sole has "Marmit 2009" carved into it and left sole says "Gojira (Biollante)" in Japanese characters (katakana). Also on the left are "Toho co ltd" and some trademark prints.Sounds like the product should get 1 or 2 stars only especially for this price. But I gave it 4 because:- I assume the "defects" were made on purpose to give it a vintage toy look n it achieved it.- The colour is nice..gloss dark copper/black body with yellowish-gold on the spikes. Btw the eyes has the same yellow-gold with black pupils.- It's not soft vinyl but hard.- It's made in Japan! There are many Godzilla figs out there that have more accurate sculpts to the films. If u are a fan of the monster, I'm sure u already have one of those or are planning to get one. But if you wanna add something special to your collection, this would work. Is it expensive? Yes. Did I regret getting it? No.
