This book moves away from the traditional hemp cord but still using the same techniques. I'll say a 21st century twist on macrame. The book is full of designs using c-lon, silk thread, yarns & other types of cord.The designs are so beautiful & elegant it can worn with any outfit & for any ocassion, she even designs a bag for Ipod! I will highly recommend this step by step book for all macrame lovers especially those who want to make & wear designs for all ocassions. Definitely not a book for the surf type beader.

This book is brilliant for anyone who is interested in macrame. It has projects that a beginner could do but also projects for the more advanced. It is clearly written with great pictures. I have already made a few bracelets and necklaces with guidance from this book and would recommend it to anyone.

I had not done macrame before but found the illustrated instructions of the various knots easily understood. The designsare modern and inspiring and after purchasing some round leather I have made the leather bracelet and intend tryingsome of the other designs.

having seen macrame demonstrated on the TV he got hooked on this method. He is an a card maker and because we tend to enjoy the same things it means that we spend lots of time working together.

This book is alright - I'd say that if you are a beginner, it's great but if you've done macrame before, or learn very quickly, it doesn't offer that much variety. Personally, I'm also not really a fan of some of the styles in the project, but this is of course subjective.

I used to do macrame years ago but this book shows more items that I have ever seen I can`t wait to start making these lovely items in this book excellent instructions from this author.

This book had some lovely designs and excellent, easy to follow instructions. I've really enjoyed making some of the projects in the book and everyone who has seen them has been very impressed.

I'm so glad I purchased Sherri Haab's book Beaded Macrame Jewelry. The stylish designs are what first attracted me to this book but what I got was so much more! The photographs that go with the step by step instructions for the different projects are clear and easy to understand, as are the written instructions. The diagrams of the various knots and techniques are very clear, making them easy to do when you try it yourself. I was able to look at one of the projects in the book, try it and finish it all within 20 minutes - and it looked as beautiful as the example! I truly liked the different materials that were used in the book as well because it showed how wonderful macrame can be with other materials besides just hemp/twine cording. And, jewelry isn't the only thing Sherri shares how to create in this book, either. There's step by step instructions for a belt, a purse, an ipod pouch and a watchband, too. Overall I think this book is one of my favorites for jewelry making because of the various knotting techniques and different designs that are shown and because of the way they are represented in the book and how easy they are to understand and create on my own. Great book - I've already recommended it to some of my beading and jewelry making friends!

I'm relatively new in macrame, despite that it's been around for ages. As we know, fads and trends cycle around and I'm happy to see that macrame, specifically micro-macrame, is hot in today's jewelry fashion. Gone are the 70's planter hangers and in are very cool looking jewelry pieces with amazing detail and color. There are pages of detailed photos instructing on basic knots used, and one thing that I REALLY love is when you find a project in the book you'd like to try, there is a strip at the bottom of the page that tells you which knots will be used in that project. If you are a beginner, this is invaluable because you'll know what you're in for and can practice accordingly.Really, there's nothing about this book that I'd change. I think that the book, 200 Beading Tips, Techniques and Trade Secrets by Jean Power is a good accompanying piece of your jewelry reference material. I've found both to be useful reference tools which have allowed me to create my own little jewelry business.

This is a nice book on macrame jewelry and other accessories. I really got it to maybe do some updated friendship bracelets, and the basic information in the beginning of the book should help with that. Some of the specific projects I might make, but none of them interest me right now. The difficult thing about specific projects is finding the materials used. It would be nice to see a couple variations with other materials. There are a number of bracelets, a pair of earrings which would be a lot of time and effort but I wouldn't wear them. There is a belt and a purse as well. Overall, the instructions are clear and complete, but I wish someone would take the old hippie designs and make them current boho.
