I ordered two in XL hoping to have larger size and was hopeful that an extra large would be larger and have a larger opening. I bought two and my cats squash them and nap on top. These are too small and my cats wont go inside. The workmanship is nice but the size is crazy small. The picture shows a much larger opening than what I received.

I didn’t think his head would fit and neither did he - he wasn’t interested at all. I tried enticing him with treats but he just went in far enough to get the treat and that was that. I set it aside in the living room and began looking for yet another option. He is a large, wide-body (yes, fat) cat and he’s kinda shy. He likes to curl up in a comfy bed and if he’s hidden, all the better. Surprise surprise! I fell asleep in the recliner and woke up to a cat snoring! A cat snoring who had climbed into the cat cave and had happily fallen asleep in there! And he’s in there at least half a dozen times a day!! So if you have a cat that seems disinterested, leave it some place where a cat can explore it on his own. I braced it against something so that it didn’t move around when he pushed on it to get inside and I think that helped. It’s a beautifully made piece and blends in to the decor nicely. But most of all, my cat loves it!! It was a milestone to have him choose sleeping in the cave over sleeping under the Christmas Tree - he really LOVES sleeping under the tree. :-)

I was worried when I first purchased this, since it seemed a little scrunched up when it arrived. To boot, my cat originally turned her nose up at it, even when I put catnip in it. But the house regained it's firm shape after sitting out for a few days. And within a week, my cat finally staked her claim. Now I always know where to find her, as this house is HERS. She sleeps in it all day long no matter what the temperature and she purrs loudly and kneads the bottom with her paws when she gets in. It is so fun to see how much she loves this. This item arrived in over a MONTH, to my dismay. My cat couldn’t fit in the hole, and even if she were to fit inside, it’d fit her like a sock, which I imagine would be uncomfortable for her, so she sits on top at times. She’s tried to go inside, but only her head and one arm fits. I bought the XL size and the hole is just much smaller than what the advertisements suggest. Do not buy if you have a fat cat! 😾

I have (2) ragdoll cats. My male is 25lbs and can fit in the extra large. My female is 17lbs and can fit in the large. I have bought two of these and love them...not as much as my cats do. My male doesn't like going inside them (I think he just puts off too much heat) so he flattens it and lays on top. My female likes to go inside (she has the almost the same length as the male but not the amount of hair and muscle) the wool inside and out is a great comfort to her. I have also bought the wool balls from kivikis and the cats have them everywhere. Can't recommend enough! Make sure when you order you get one that is big enough for your cats. If you have two cats who cuddle together, I would recommend the extra large! The pics with a cat inside is extra large and the pic with the male laying next to it is a large. Hope this helps!

I hardly ever write reviews but was so impressed with my cats’ reception of this bed that I made an exception. I have purchased a few cat beds for our boys over the years and they never use them. Ever. Not ever. I had been eyeing this style of bed for a few years but couldn’t justify the price for what would surely be dismissed by my cats. After being convinced to buy it by my cat-loving husband, I was floored at how much they are loving it! Straight out of the box, they fought (literally) over who could lay inside. While it is definitely large enough for them both to snuggle inside together, they have made a game out of claiming the interior. The smell of the wool bed is also so alluring to them that the cat who loses out in the bed has been curling up in the shipping box. Today I found that they had smashed down the top and curled together on it. I cannot believe I waited so long to order it! Highly recommended by myself and my two opinionated cats.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  We got Fugi's new bed today and the minute I opened it up and put it down... He was in it. I didn't catch him on film right away but, I got my camera ready for his next visit. I got lots of good picture of him investigating it and jumping in... but I was not able to load them. I took my first video on this phone as he exited the bed after taking a bath in there. He loves it! Feels right at home. We tried many other beds before we decided to try this one. There was a wait for it to arrive and it was a bit more pricey than most of the ones we tried... but the wait was worth it. Well constructed, safe warm and sound insulated. PURRRR Fect!

My rather fat 16 pound Devon Rex (he's white so looks like a propane tank with legs) loves it, crawled into it immediately and started grooming himself before going to sleep. My 4 month old kitten loves it too, crawled inside immediately. I bought the XL size and it seems roomy enough to manage a very large cat since my fat cat has plenty of room inside and had no trouble getting through the opening. With some squishing together I think two 12-16 lb cats could fit, it would just be snugly, but that's how cats sleep most of the time anyway. It is fairly thick and holds it shape nicely. It looks like good quality materials and it is a hit with my cats. Shipping does take a bit longer since it shipped from Lithuania, but it wasn't a problem for me since my cats already have several cat beds to choose from at home. Worth the wait and I might purchase one or two more in the future.
