MusicNomad GRIP String Cutter for Guitar, Bass & String Instruments (MN226)

I’m a big fan of MusicNomad and have a good number of their products. Their prices are really fair, and the quality often matches or beats the more expensive brands. I bought this string cutter after getting tired of cheap pliers that hurt my hand, felt like I had to strain to cut the strings, and became useless after a couple of changes. This cutter is excellent. After 8 or 9 string changes, the blades show no wear or deformation. The handles feel solid and ergonomic, making string changes quicker and significantly easier. The sharp tip lets you cut right up to the post, and the spring tension feels feels really nice. I also appreciate the safety guard—it’s a clever touch that protects the tool, my hands, and the other gear in my tool box. The big difference compared to cheap, no-name pliers? These last, they cut easily, and they don’t strain your hand. Worth every penny in my opinion.

Nice pair of pliers to cut strings with. I can get in closer on a slotted head guitar than I can with other pliers.

I am just extremely pleased with the quality and precision of this wire cutter. Excellent ergonomic design on the handles - I love the pinky tail at the end, fits my hand perfectly. I just used them for the first time, and I was very impressed how cleanly they cut with so little effort, because the cutting edges are sharp and align perfectly. The return spring is just right for keeping them open. I put a very light coat of oil on that spring, and on the cutting head, so I will be able to enjoy using them for many years to come. Every once in a while you run across a great product, and this is one of them.

I bought thse cutters after deciding to restring my Epiphone Viola guitar with flatwound strings vs. the roundwound strings that came with the bass. Thankfully Youtube provides excellent videos on changing strings. So after ordering some flatwounds, I added the MusicNomad Grip Cutters to the cart to give me basically everything I would need to change strings. First of all, I was really impressed with the appearance and build quality of these string cutters. It feels like a precision instrument and even comes with a protective guard to protect the blades and prevent scratching of items stored with the cutters. I keep mine in the packaging that it came with and store in a drawer. The cutter works perfectly on thick bass strings and cleanly cuts any silk windings on the ends of the strings as well.

This is an excellent tool for cutting strings on musical instruments. My favorite feature is the flat side of the clipper. You can cut the strings very close to the winders. It's very comfortable too. I use it for guitar, sitar and tambura strings. It's nice and compact too, so easy to find room in your instrument bag/case to store it. I've bought other Music Nomad products and have been happy with them overall.

Stubby, sharp, built to last. This tool has a very comfortable grip and makes short work of most strings. Would definitely recommend this to any musicians or luthier looking for a quality pair of cutters. Not the best price point but after a year of use they do their job well.

These are great! Small and compact and they do exactly what they are designed for. I have used other wire cutters (for cutting guitar strings) in the past that end up getting little notches in the blades that prevented smaller gauge strings from being cut. So far, these have NOT had that issue. Highly recommend!

I like this guitar string cutter a lot. Packs a punch for a small form factor. Feels sturdy and well made. I’ve only used it on 2-3 string changes so far, so I can speak the durability yet, but if it’s made like the other MusicNomad products I’ve purchased, I have nothing to worry about.

ギターの弦を切っても刃こぼれしません。 キャップ付きなのでギターバックのポケットに入れておいても安心です。

Great clipper makes it easy to trim strings nice and close without risking damaging your guitar.

excellente pince à couper les cordes de guitare facilement

It is a bit pricey for what it actually does, but it's got the expected MusicNomad quality. I recently bought it so I can't say much on durability, but it looks well-built and I expect it to last a long time.

Wicked strings cutters! 😎🎸🇨🇦
