A unique Wayuu original bag with a tribal design traditionally representing animals, plants, mother earth, the sun and everything the Wayuu women are surrounded with. The bag is large yet lightweight and closes with a handwoven cord with hanging tassels. Referred to as mochila, each Wayuu bag is hand-woven by the women of the Wayuu tribe, an indigenous community that has lived along the coast of Colombia and Venezuela. The women of the Wayuu tribe have been hand weaving these bags for generations. Each bag is a unique design interwoven with elaborate tribal patterns, colors, culture and a lot of love. The designs consist of geometric figures representing animals, plants, the sun, mother earth, and everything the tribe is surrounded with.
