got the damper in and is very good quality . has some weight to it but also has a pocket to it if you want to add more weight.the only thing that i would improve is put larger reflectors or make it a bright color but that is a easy fix with some reflective tape.the damper measures 19" wide and 16" tall and is made of heavy vinyl with lots of Velcro on the inside

Was worried to order something with no reviews from an unknown company with no website... however I was pleasantly surprised. Full sized (not like some of the mini ones floating around Amazon), good feeling material, and weighted enough to actually work. Pocket built in to add extra weight. The unit probably weighs about 2 lbs. Stayed in place on the steel winch line well, no tendency to slide. Great deal for the price, will probably pick up another one.

Nice product with pouches on each side for filling with dirt. On heavy winch jobs fill with dirt, place in the middle of the winch line and it will stop a broken cable or rope dead in its tracks if it fails. Prevents whipping cable to avoid injury or damage to people and vehicles. Great affordable product.

I haven’t had to use this item yet (thankfully), but seems like it should do what it’s supposed to do. Stitching is good, weight is good, high visibility. Thanks!

I have used this every time I have recovered a vehicle using a snatch rope, and it did its job the one time something gave out. I was pulling a car out using their screw in bumper recovery point. Well, we didn't screw it in far enough and when I started pulling the threads failed, turning the hook into a projectile. This damper pulled the rope and everything to the ground and as a result nothing was damaged, no one was hurt, and it didn't get to fling very far.After screwing the hook back in using the cheater bar that was in their spare tire kit right next to the hook, we successfully pulled them free of the snow bank.I wish that orange had been an option when I bought this two years ago. Might buy a new one in orange for better visibility. Most of my recoveries are at night, all of them in winter.

I have not used this damper with the winch, however it seems to be sturdily made and I believe it should be up to the task.
