Husk Orange Drink Sachets, Pack of 30

Needed a non-fermentable fibre- that doesnt bloat or give me wind but keeps things moving. This is perfect! Discovered (after many lumpy attempts) that if you mix it in a sports protein shake bottle (the ones with a spiral ball that you shake up and down) it gives a perfect, smooth mix that tastes a bit like gritty orange squash -but not unpleasant. Half the price of other brands and works well. Win win!

I found these sachets very effective, and they have a pleasant taste.The only problem is, as others have mentioned, they are quite difficult to mix.

This product contains - Irradiated Ispaghula Husk (Plantago Ovata) 3.5g, Pregelatinised Starch, Citric Acid Monohydrate, Natural Flavouring, Sweetener (Aspartame), Colour (Beta-Carotene).That 'other branded one' contains-3.5g Ispaghula Husk B.P. in an Orange Flavoured Base containing Aspartame E951 and Saccharin Sodium Sweeteners, Potassium Bicarbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Polysorbate 80, Silica Colloidal Anhydrous, Citric Acid and Beta - Carotene and Riboflavine Sodium Phosphate Colouring.That other branded one is normally twice the price.Not a strong taste, just like weak kids orange juice.I mixed it in a sports drink type bottle and shook it for 30 seconds. Not at all gritty when I mixed it this way.Drink a full glass of water or more after each dose, it helps the process , don't take more than it says thinking it will help, it won't ,it will do the opposite .It works by absorbing water in the bowel and so increasing the bulk of the stool hleping regulate bowel movement. It also softens the stool, reducing straining, so if you take too much I don't think you will get the result you were hoping for .

I like the fact that this is cheaper than the Fybogel and I like the way it works in exactly the same way. It also mixes reasonably well if you give it a short whisking. I do have to say that the taste is just very bland and does not encourage you to want to take any more. The taste is nothing like the branded version. To be honest it does not taste like anything I have ever tasted before!I have tried a full box of these and decided that I will not be buying anymore because the original Fybogel tastes far better and does mix much easier. I suppose we really do get what we pay for.

It helps with bowel movement a lot!!

As far as these drinks go, this is one of the better tasting and more bearable ones! Does the job. My friend thought so too and prefers them to alternative ones he was given

This is the same as Fybogel at a much lower price.
