Yes, indeedy, it is "amp ready". There's a piezo pickup inside and a jack on the side of the box. I plug it in all the time.

It's pretty much complete. Already assembled are the box, neck, pickups, electronics. You basically just put the strings on which involves putting on (no gluing or nailing or screwing) the bolts for the bridge and the nut then tightening up the strings. Couldn't be easier.

Q: does a glass or brass slide come with this box guitar?

It came with a glass slide. My nephew loved this guitar.

Q: can it play acoustically as well as electric or is it electric only with no acoustic properties

You can definitely play acoustically with it. I recommend buying a mini amp for it that runs on batteries they are very cheap. Fender and danelectro makes great mini amps.

good quality for the price

I play accoustic and electric guitars, with ukelele for fun. when this turned up , I was over the moon. the parts are easy to assemble, What is most important is the book and cd which come with it, they are invaluable for a beginner. Overall, a good piece of kit, especially through an amplifier

If you cant play guitar dont buy it. If you can, understand it's cheap for a reason

It's a bit naff, cant stay in tune, strings awful, scale too short for the tuning. Action is higher than most buildings. But maybe change the strings and chuck a smaller bolt in to reduce the action at the nut and maybe it will improve. Might not i just went and bought a proper CBG instead. But it was cheap and fun. Am giving it away....
