Viking Thermostat Bake/Broil Part Pb010036

I bought this to replace a broken stem on our oven. I had tried to epoxy it back on but it kept failing so I looked on YouTube and found a great step by step repair (the model he works on doesn’t say Viking but it is literally the same model just different name). The part arrived within 2 days after ordering and I got to work unscrewing the panels. When I opened the bag and looked at the part my heart sank because the stem didn’t look like it was aligned correctly. Even after I put the oven back together and the new knob (which I purchased separately) was on it wasn’t aligned right. BUT when I turned the power back on the oven light immediately went on, meaning it wasn’t sent from the factory with it set to “OFF”, but “ON” in the broil position. After I turned the knob the oven went off and it was perfectly aligned. Expensive part but that comes with owning a Viking.

Worried that it wasn’t a Viking product. It was installed and everything works fine! NowTo wait to see how long it lasts ..

Wasn’t certain it was the correct thermostat upon arrival because it was in a clear plastic bag, loose in a box, and attached label’s numbers didn’t match anything. However, when I pulled the old thermostat out of the stove it did match. It also installed within minutes and was super easy, with only the most basic of instructions available online. Took longer to clean all stove parts prior to reassembly than it did to install the thermostat. In all I spent three hours time on disassembly, installation, cleaning the stove and old parts, reassembly, plugging the stove back in and testing before pushing it back in an backing us some brownies. 👨🏼‍🍳

Shaft on part is not on part it was broken off and not in bag. Part sent out broken.

After 20 years my Viking 4 burner gas range had a problem. Oven would not heat above 300 degrees. After lots of on-line research , I thought it was the thermostat but it might have been the igniters. Ordered both and found a good installation video by Scott. Installed both and it turned out to be the igniters. Works great now. Approx $350 in parts from Amazon. I live in an upscale area and it probably would have cost $1500-2000 to have a pro fix it.I have average DIY skills. Hope this is helpful.

THe title says it all — almost. I knocked one star off because of the ridiculous Viking pricing. But this was exactly the right part, it installed easily (there is a video on youtube that shows the process on an oven that appears to identical to my VGIC305-4BSS in all except a change to the model name) and it works perfectly. Took me (much) longer to clean the oven than it did to replace the thermostat.Seller was great also — the stem on our Viking oven temperature knob broke off a few days ago and there aren’t many days between now and when we have to cook a big holiday meal. But the seller shipped out promptly, the item was as described and Amazon actually delivered in 2 days as promised. Case closed, holiday saved!

Fits my Viking stove perfectly. Please remember that you cannot remove the copper wire that is connected to the thermostat and hook it to the existing one. Would have made sense to have that option as it makes installation much easier thst removing the existing copper wire and dismantling the back of the stove to remove and put a new one through. It works great.

I installed this for whirlpool model GY397LXUS02. Oven would not respond to any of the buttons pressed. I made the mistake of removing board and all the plugs. No need for that. Easiest way is to remove the front burner knobs off, remove the screws, that hold that assembly in place. Remove the membrane, it’s only double sided sticky tape. Be careful when installing the new piece, it’s a fragile connection to the board. Install the new one and Voila!! The oven came back to life. I definitely recommend for now unless it stops working anytime soon.
