Brides de Gala is Hermes' best selling scarf of all time, designed by Hugo Grykar in 1957 and reissued more times than the Birkin handbag has been admired. Loosely translated as Gala Bridles, Brides de Gala represent love and celebration of all things equestrian. The colors are a pop of tomato red against an ivory background; the brides are tomato red and silver. The scarf is converted into a pillow by backing it with Italian linen fabric in the ivory shade for a polished look. An invisible zipper is added to the top of the pillow so that it can be dry cleaned and preserved. A down pillow form is then inserted into the pillow and zipped in.
