Ambient Weather WS-2902-ARRAY Replacement Sensor Array

This is a replacement array for my WS2000. The inside screen still worked fine. The inside temp, day and wifi still had readings. The outdoor sensors after 3 years florida heat, no longer worked. This array seems to be an exact fit. The setup was not difficult. My old array solar panel was completely dead, which made the disconnect easier. Go into settings, more, sensor and find and disable the old array. The old array model number is on bottom right side of array. Then put batteries in new unit keep new unit near panel. Go back into settings and under the same sensor enable. Push the reset button on bottom of new array, red light will flash on opposite side. Unplug the new side panel screen, to reboot. In a few minutes it should find the new array and it will now be listed in same fashion as the old array was.

I bought this to replace my original WS-2902 array that was 4 1/2 years old. After moving I noticed that the case had a crack and the wind sensor axle was bent. This replacement was just like the original. It did not automatically get detected by the console, I had to hold the light/snooze button forcing it to re-detect. I actually had to do that twice and then everything worked. I have had to tape the battery door closed. Although it seems secure it eventually comes open. The batteries last for years.

No direction in box, but not really needed since you have the old unit. The wind cup securing screw would not lock down the unit regardless of how far screwed down. Noted it was a pointed end screw while the old unit had a flt end screw. Re-used the old unit screw and problem solved. The message is don't toss anything until assembly and installation are complete. Unit connected immediately with all readings functional. I made sure the old unit was totally powered down first.

I absolutely love this Ambient weather station. This is the 2nd one I've owned. I'd still be on my first one if I had not dropped it...my bad. But I've been using this model for years and just love it. Easy to mount, easy to pair to the console and as accurate and durable as any out there. The batteries lasted me 5 years, the rain totals and counts are accurate as are wind speeds, direction, temps and etc. Really enjoy this hobby.

I have had an Ambient 2902 Weather Station for a number of years. The outside unit was damaged by a tornado that took out our roof and several windows. I was looking for a replacement when I ran across the outside unit being sold separately. I purchased it to save a few bucks. It synced up with my older console and has been working great.

The temperature sensor on my 10 year old WS-1400 gave bad readings so I was looking for a replacement. Ambient Weather support told me I could just replace the array and keep all the other things, like the indoor sensor and the ObserverIP thingy. And they were right. On the webpage interface you have to select WS-1550-IP to get readings from this one.

This was a replacement for my original unit that survived three hurricanes and countless days of scorching hot SW Florida sun only to fall prey to a direct hit from a frisbee. These are great little weather stations, especially for the price. I was pleased I did not have to replace the base station, saved me a few bucks

When first powered up, indoor/outdoor temps were way off. I could look at weather stations within a mile of me and see a huge difference. A call to customer service and and after powering it off removing batteries and doing a reset it started displaying reasonable readings. After getting that working later I noticed wind speed way off. A 15-20 wind gust showing up as 2-3 mph. At that point I just bought a different brand wind speed/direction sensor from Amazon.
