Q: Are these ite backs magnetic?

The Holdbacks are not magnetic. There is actually a small bracket that you screw into the wall first and then slide the holdback onto it.

Q: Could you attach these to the wall with command strips? I am renting and cannot drill into the wall.

They are fairly light and seem to have enough flat surface for a command strip, so as long as the curtains aren't too heavy, I think you could get away with it, yes.

Q: Are these good for exterior use exposed to the elements?

They might hold up but they are not heavy duty, I’m curious what you might be using them for, outdoor fabric? They are not very large.
