ECAT1 : Loft Tent - Loft Access Insulation / Attic Door Insulation

Decent idea but really badly executed - the listing says 'robust construction' - it's not - flimsy panels covered in tin foil and that's it - the plastic corner pieces are sharp and cut into the panels if they are not exactly positioned when putting the thing together, which then literally crumble away to dustIf the manufacturers are going to claim that their product is "robust" then it needs to be made out of something more sturdy than a sheet of crumbly stuff covered in tin foil.Similarly, the hinge arrangement looks a good idea on paper but is useless in a modern house where the supporting beams don't leave a nice clear space, the hinges can't be used.I resolved all the above issues with gaffer tap and got the thing fitted and it does seem to make a difference - so credit where credit is due but this product is let down in all other respects by poor design and construction and is certainly not worth the money when a fiver's worth of polystyrene sheeting gaffer-taped into a box shape could have done the same thing

This is a well thought out design Its light but sturdy, and easy to assemble . I needed to shorten the length by a couple of inches and I used astandard hacksaw blade to do so,I was relieved to find the material was so easy to cut . If your attic hatch is not insulated I would recommend this product.
